No, they don't. Musk pays them no matter what.

China doesn't need the U.S.

The U.S. needs China.

Elon Musk is exactly jack shit compared to all the companies world wide dying to pay to do business with China.
It's all Chinese money.....it's part of their agreement

Not sure why this conversation is happening in this thread but since it is, I'll add my .02; Tesla makes great cars, cars they don't earn money on. Every one of them sells at a net loss. They have yet to figure out how to build a car and actually make money doing it.

Everything else Mr Musk did with money invested in Tesla didn't help; the solar panels were an incredible flop, the solar roofing was worse. Only selling batteries has made money- but even then it's been pinching output because battery availability is the bottleneck in the production numbers. You can't cannibalise your way to profitability.

Taco, you're absolutely right about electric cars from other manufacturers. Not only are many starting to sell vehicles into the American market but there are literally dozens of Chinese electric car makers building EVs for their domestic market.

China need not care what happens to Tesla; they've got plenty of builders, not all of whom will survive as it is.

As good as Tesla's cars are- and even that's debatable, based on customer complaints about build quality- the smart money is going to be shorting their stock.

EDIT:
Their stock has been as high as $347 this year, currently trading at $196. Their high last year was $376. They sell only a few hundred thousand cars a year- being optimistic- so their market capitalisation being higher than Ford or GM, each of whom build millions, made no earthly sense at all.

You remember the link I posted about Rivian? They're going into production building pickup trucks and full size SUVs? Both Amazon and Ford have each invested $700 million into the company.

That's one I'd expect to do well.

Frankly, I fear Taco is right about your irrational fervor for Tesla. You haven't shown any data that explains or supports your contention that Tesla is financially healthy, while we've both put up lots that says otherwise.

Here's more data:
Tesla bond yields are up over 25%- because the purchase price of them has fallen so much. That's the market saying they don't have confidence in those bonds. By the way, they're rated deep in junk territory.

Tesla does not have a high enough chance of entering Chapter 11 to make the call of shorting it. I personal would short share a company that has a good chance to filing bankruptcy. I don't see Tesla doing that.

and your point ? You fail to realize how quickly this stock grew. Still worth more than Wal mart, Apple, Target, etc... but has been around how long ? I expected a fall and stall before it settles in. Tesla went public around 2010 I believe at around 17-18 bucks. 10 years later it still hold over 150 reach over 300 at times. and this with zero marketing. I do wish you to explain why would you short a company that does not have a high risk of bankruptcy ?

Zero marketing? Please.

I don't wish to see Tesla fail. That said, I'm not going to ignore the facts.

Hi Tty. Hey, you haven't addressed my concerns about how you accused me of being pro war with Venezuela. Why did you say that? Can you back that up with any posts of mine? Certainly you aren't just saying that because I called bullshit on your obviously bullshit-to-anybody-with-a-brain sources. Did you?

I know you'll totally address this issue and not just send up diversions like "derp, totally fact free post, clown shoes" because that would be cowardly.

Hey, while you are at it you can answer one of my other questions... Will loudly and falsely denouncing others who don't share you revolutionary fervor and disregard for the veracity of "sources" be an official Progressive tactic?

Thanks.

Do tell me who is Tesla CMO ??? Who heads the marketing or advertising dept ? How many Tesla commercial have you saw on television ? How much is the marketing or advertisement budget ?
I also asked you to explain why would you short sell a company that does not have a high chance of bankruptcy. You seemingly ignore .
Do us all a favor and stop talking on shit you are clueless about. How about attempting to be a father that is IN his child's life. That seems hard enough for ya
