I'm new also but I have been learning a lot from others on this site. There is tons of knowledgeable information here.

LED vs HPS: LED's are more efficient and produce less heat. I think the HLG QB's are the most recommended LED's recently, there are other options though. They are white light vs the blurple lights you posted. They are more efficient albeit more expensive. Happy growing. :bigjoint:

For a 5x5 tent, none of those lights will cover that space completely. My 600w vivosun HPS covers my 4x4 pretty decent with the outer edges suffering a little, if it was 5x5, the outer edges would def suffer.

of the 3 you listed, the VIVOSUN 600w will preform best i would think. Just not sure about it covering a full 5x5 footprint.

If you want to beat HPS your gonna have to go with proper LEDs, like QBs,cobs or strips for example.

CMH are also doing really well, i own a 315 vivosun CMH and it preforms very well. They have a 630 model ive heard is good. They also have 945w
If your choices are from the list above, no brainer, the 600w hps. If you want to spend some extra cash and get the best lighting for your space, there are a bunch of very good options.

Cheapest option I would imagine would be a 1000w hps. You get good coverage and they aren't too bad $$ wise. You will need some form of heat management tho.

For led and cobs anything from the list below are legit and sell very good lights. The names tagged beside are reps for each company. Very good dudes

Hlg. @Stephenj37826
Timbergrowlights @RainDan
Rapid led
Cutter boards and strips @welight
Amare

Also must mention the alibaba lights, there's a huge thread about the Chinese knockoffs, they are preforming well and are priced nicely $/w. Pre built fixtures or diy choices.

The diy route can get you even better bang for your $$$ .

There's also guys like @Prawn Connery who have qb boards for sale that are testing very good and are built by growers.

So many options , depends solely on how much you want to spend bud.

They would make some decent veg light. Are you married to the idea of getting lights from amazon? Its not the best place really.

Missing from diggs list is atreum lighting and ledgardeners ledstrip templates.

The easiest thing would be to say how much you can spend on the light in total at this moment. Am i right that you wanna spend 400 now? And youre in the US? If 400$ you will need to go the diy route to get it done decent and probably only flower half the tent this first time. Can you get aluminium extruded profiles or alu sheet locally at a cheap price? Its great for diying heatsinks. But watch out, diying lights is more addictive than crack....

Generally i would say it pays off to spend up front rather than cheaping out and later spending again. But there are ways of doing it well and on the cheap aswell.

If you are new to indoor in sincerely recommend CMH as a very user friendly light. They work quite well both in cold and hot temps and give less hassle than leds.

A led tent can be really fickle if you dont have the right environment. What is your strategy to manage heat, humidity and CO2?

Edit : also CMH you can easily change bulb for veg / flower. A led system youd need a compromise spectrum for full cycle, most use 3000-3500k.

I got everything prepared for my grow tent. To heat management, odor control, airflow, and etc. I'm not going run CO2. I'll be using Canna coco medium with canna coco nutrient line A & B, Rhiztonic, just for veg. For bloom haven't got nutes for it yet debating to go with Canna boost or Bud Candy, Big Bud. The strain I'll be growing will be "Wedding cake". So which left me with "Lights" I heard very good thing about LEDs producing good yield an efficient than hps. So I wanted to give it a try. If you can give me some good suggestion an Link to some that are in the price range 100-300. I check out ledstrip an I am interested how many of them I would need for 4x4 tent

You cant cant light that space well for 300 unless you get a good 2nd hand deal on a hps 1000w. But even as such youll have problems, your tent isnt high enough. If you have good environment control (temp and rh, independently) go for led. But if you feel its going to be hard maintaining 80-85F in your space you should do CMH.

Led needs very specific conditions to get your plants to drink and transpire fine. The problem is if you are intracting air from the outside and its cold most of the time of the year, well you will be too cold and the plants will suffer bigtime. If you feel this is the case then go for cmh, it has a bit of infrared that makes the plants drink nicely and it makes for a nice no stress light. Ymmv

I was think using LEDs to veg them. Then when I flip them to flower I'll usea 600w hps for 2 plants.
