What’s on my leaves????

How come bro? Im trying to learn and not really sure what im doing. Trying to take people’s advice and research it. I’ve gone both ways on this topic. I won’t really know much until i fully grow this

I’ve used same. Trio and ocean forest, never came out with leaves like that. Was just asking cause you said you’re using distilled water. I know without fertilizers or cal mag as an addition it can make things weird over time. I’ve saw similar leaves on young seedlings but they grew out of it. This is outside what I know

I think it has to do with genetics maybe. That’s what im guessing. I did buy the seeds at a dispensary but for 60 bucks getting 10 seeds not really sure how great the genetics are. Equilibrium was is the brand. My bag seeds kind of did better at least none of them had any health issues just a couple of them turned out to be a mail. I can’t yet Afford or don’t want to put my money into a RO water system yet because I will be moving in in less than a year so I figure I might as well just buy water or get something else in the meantime

well depending where you are and if you have access to a water report your tap water is often better for your plants than distilled water.

as long as you're always adding calcium and nutrients to your distilled water then you should be fine, but its just unnecessary in my opinion. paying extra $ for water that has the calcium removed and then adding back in calcium just didn't make sense to me. and i've never seen any damage from chlorine, flouride, and all the other things people worry about.

just me. to be clear i am not saying the mottling on your leaves is from distilled water. IMO that is just a genetic trait that happens and plants usually grow out of it.

It’s a possibility. I’ve never heard of them. I’ve had a strain that had funky leaves. Stripes and white blotching..wilting.,twisting and eventually grew out of it..some didn’t all the way but got better. Happened twice from seed next to different strains that grew perfect both times

Oh for sure totally. I appreciate your opinion and experience. What about pH issues with tap water? Isn’t there enough nutrients in soil?

tap water is more stable than distilled water. mine us usually 8.5-9 pH but comes down to 6-6.5 with a couple mL of pH down.

distilled water may say 7.0 pH but because there is nothing in it, a tiny bit of anything can send the pH way up or way down. Some people put some tap water into distilled water to combat this.

There is nice chlorine smell from the tap water. Makes me nervous

He Casey, there has been activity on that thread I posted and someone has suggested that my symptoms could have been mites and that I didn't use enough magnification to rule out russet or broad mites. So although I am skeptical that there are mites smaller than the depth of the leaf cuticle that could burrow through it to cause lots of damage, you might try a flea bomb in your room. If I get gnats or mites I get phyrithrin-based flea bombs from home depot, turn off power in the grow room, and bomb it. I don't know if you're willing to do that but it would rule out mites. (I like pyrithrins because Washington State allows their use in commercial indoor grows)

I have already checked for mites with a microscope. No mites.
