He also said they'd be out of money in 10 months without drastic cost cutting measures.

Which doesn't matter in the face of his new Mexico tariff act that will raise the price of the average gas powered car by well over 1000 dollars.

None of that has anything to do with Musk running Tesla into the dirt.

Tesla’s dominance in the growing electric vehicle (EV) industry is largely attributed to its unique approach to its battery technology. The engineering behind the all-electric car maker’s cylindrical cells speaks for itself in terms of the performance and range achieved, but in a recent interview with a battery technology researcher, a few things detailed about Tesla’s batteries stood out in particular......

It's a vain effort to increase sales for the 2nd quarter. The offer ends in three weeks.

He'll also reneg on the deal. All Tesla's originally came with free super charging. He canceled it.

In fact, now you can only charge to 80% at a station.

He's so broke, he can't afford the power to charge the cars he sells anymore.

To be fair, charging lithium ion cells at high power to 100% leads to unacceptable deterioration and safety problems.

I'm on your side in this discussion about Tesla's long term solvency but let's make sure the facts we use are accurate.

He bought Maxwell Technologies too- with borrowed money.

He's been borrowing money like crazy for years and still has not managed to turn a profit on the core business of building cars.

Flipping carbon credits for quick one time cash does not count.

I want to see Tesla succeed as much as you do but I'm not going to ignore the evidence.

Elon Musk is currently the biggest threat to Tesla's long term survival.

To be fair, charging to only 80% reduces the cars range by nearly 35% which renders it sub standard.

No other EV has that problem. Only Tesla.

Tesla makes 0 cars in Mexico so they aren't subject to thumps 25% Mexico tariff on cars. Looks like Teslas just got a 25% cheaper.....:blsmoke:

A Tesla with 80% charge still has longer range than any other ev using 100%, and 100% is not necessary for normal driving.. And by using your batteries at 80% most of the time will make your battery pack last 20+years.....You'er clueless

The model 3 standard has an advertised range of 220 miles. If you can only charge it to 80%, that range falls very quickly to 170 miles.

There are presently 14 different models of EV's from other automakers with a greater range than that.

But let's call a spade a spade. Let's go all in.

The S model Tesla has an advertised range of 285 miles. Charged to only 80%, that falls to a maximum of 190 miles.

The new Jaguar has no problem fast charging to 100%. It doesn't burst into flame, it doesn't lose abilities, it has no problems whatsoever. It's range at 100%: 234 miles.

The 80% charged model S Tesla will be sitting on the side of the road as the Jaguar EV goes driving past it...by a distance of 44 miles on average.

To top it all off, the Jaguar has a better interior, more standard features and is cheaper than a model S.

You're such a patent fan girl liar it's really pathetic. It really, really is.

Having a sociology background, I have to say that the whole Tesla short seller drama is fascinating. In the year 2019, that includes flamewars on social media, paid trolls, misleading message makers, ties to mainstream media, fanboys & fangirls fighting back, and even a legal battle between the SEC and Twitter-loving CEO Elon Musk. Oh yeah, and all with billions of dollars on the line.

It can be super frustrating to see the Tesla story warped, facts omitted, and incessant and obvious smear campaigns against Tesla. It’s especially frustrating since those are so effective.
