Deciding when to Transplant?

Ok guys ill try and keep this short and sweet first time grower here... My babies are about 28 days from breaking soil.. Biggest is about 10 inches, These are bag seeds, GG4 but seems to be heavily indica, sex still unknown, nodes started alternating about a week ago. I want to start flowering when they are about 18inches tall. I'm trying to avoid transplanting a plant not knowing the sex, but at the same time i dont want them getting to tall before i start flowering. Having said all that I need to allow time to recover from transplant and then topping.. is this just the cost of growing seeds?? transplant, top, train and hope for the best as far as sex goes?

2 smallest are in .75 gallon
2 biggest are in 1 gallon

i plan on using 2 or 3g smart pots
32x32x63 tent, 2x 60w Quantum boards 4k +blurple led(126w actual) I just introduced the
QBs..currently dimmed to 20w ea
I only plan on keep the 2 strongest females if im lucky enough.. the seedling is an CBD auto and will have her own tent for obvious reasons
soil runoff ph 6.30 (fox farms)
Fox farms nutrients, ph'd water, 1/4 tsp Epsom salt.. I'm watering by feeling the weight of pots
Temps avg about 70-80, humidity about 40-50%

If you are careful there shouldn't be much transfer shock
I like too switch pots two weeks before flip to allow roots to establish

if never had any transplant shock wuth any . and I aint gentle . squeeze pot tap bottom and tip it out lol . place in bigger pot leave for a week then flower depending on how long you have vegged

I scuff the hell out of my roots but didn't want him to come back with some horror story

I was thinking 7-10days.. I couldn't decide what to do so i topped the biggest two right before lights out. the other 2 im going to transplant when lights come back on.
Then next weekend do the opposite to them..

Going to experiment with cloning some tops as well, fuck it ynot

If you did it right there should be no way to clone the tops you took they would be far too short to root

Your root mass should determine when to transplant to a bigger pot, not what’s convenient for you.
Listen to your plants they’ll tell you everything you need if you just listen.

I did that with watering.. easy to overthink some of these thnings sometimes

they are just waking up.. they look like them normal selves for light just coming on..

Should i trim some of the upper fan leaves?
