At least he was a brilliant musician and a decent person.
He was also quite a good guitar player. He never gets mentioned for that at all, which is unfortunate really. I was at a gathering he played at once, just him and a Gibson Hummingbird.

I was impressed.

I guess the thing that they have in common is the necessary belief that the great majority of people are evil and seek to control others through the creation of conspiracies. That does ten to lead one down the rabbit hole pretty hard.

So, you're always on the lookout for the next former Mrs. Unclebaldrick?
Nah. The first was a Mulligan. I was young and my father was dying slowly and her's just unexpectedly died suddenly around the same time. So we got married . I knew on the honeymoon (which was spent partially in the eye of a class 5 hurricane) that I needed a divorce and got one soon after. I liked the second one but she had some serious problems that I would not just ignore. In a bout of relationship brinksmanship, she gave me an out. We had no kids - I took it.

Now I have a child and a wonderful wife and will not be marrying again.

Lol, I was listening to a Mavis Staples interview yesterday and she was asked if Prince was really strange. She replied, "Oh, he was really strange".
There’s a newish documentary on him that will shed a lot of light into what made him what he was. Let’s just say his Mom and Dad sucked big time as parents. When Prince was about 11, his mom thought he showed feminine tendencies so started giving him porn magazines to look at, and she was very promiscuous. No wonder 90% of his music was sexual in nature.

I am not sure that chemtrails are even in the realm of politics though they tend to be related. Kind of like flat-earth or anti-vax.

I remember having a conversation with somebody here who insisted that planes didn't make contrails when they were a kid. I posted some pictures of US bombers on the way to Germany with huge persistent contrails and suddenly the argument was we must have been using chemical weapons on Germany.

The primary thing isn't the politics, its that acceptance of rubbish knowledge that often becomes political or is manipulated by others into becoming so.

Technology (internet, ubiquitous cameras, etc.) is killing off the old ways and undoing the Age of Reason with unintelligent or over-religious people. I am strongly starting to suspect it will not be going away and yet cannot exist in a single successful country to the extent it does.
I think its more of a building block to 'don't trust the government' mindset for some folks, like if they are willing to do that then we can't trust them on anything.

I think how it started with my dad was him wondering why his watering buckets kept getting orange goo in it, a couple conversations and internet searches later and he is 'learning' how it is the chemicals planes dumping. I tried to explain that it was likely algae and the shear number of people it would take to make a chemical to dump, truck it to airports, fill the planes with, and pilots/crew willingness to dump it without going to the news is less than likely. And that the planes are really just using massive amounts of jet fuel and the extremely hot exhaust is causing the water(and other junk floating up there) vapor to make the trails.

What I don't understand is how someone who can believe that a government is dumping chemicals into the sky to alter the planet with poison can't bring themselves to believe humanity collectively dumping and burning everything we can get our hands on, will have an effect on global climate and weather.

*Edit - worded that last part wrong with a double negative kind of thing. I think it makes sense now.

It shows that people don’t have a basic understanding of the science of our atmosphere. The average jet engine combustion chamber burns at around 2000 degrees. Vapor trails are usually seen in the stratosphere where temperatures start at 60 degrees below zero. Temps go a little higher as you go up in the stratosphere but it’s still below zero. Super hot exhaust and super freezing temps, = vapor trail (frozen vapor). Thats why low flying jets in the troposphere have no white vapor trail (frozen vapor) but you will see regular black exhaust.

Someday I'll tell you how my first marriage ended. I've been told I should write a book about it. Presently on my 2nd and have no plans to ever have a 3rd.

Older people are going to fall for this shit so easily. "I know you say that Obama was not a Muslim, but I saw a video of the man making a secret speech where he admitted he was and called for a holy war against white people."
So my brother did actually bring this up a while back, I tried to find it but couldn't, around the same time I was told to get my news from OAN by him.

At the time I looked at that site and it had no articles on Papadopolus or Carter Page, and the only one about Butina was one showing her in oranges in a Pic that the article had her lawyers saying she was being mistreated in prison. I was kind of scared to clink many more links on that site. Did a quick search, looks like the guy who started that one did so right after Trump entered the race in 2015. Privately owned and of course his 3rd wife is Russian, and who knows what that means, but seriously why are there always these links to Russians.

Because they have been manipulating and/or manipulated for longer than we have and much more intensively. Certainly we have been manipulated to a certain extent but not like they have. Putin and his people saw the opportunity quickly and we offered little defense to it.

Years ago, Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan said "you are entitled to your own opinions but not your own facts.". Well, you are now allowed your own facts too and probably always will be. Reason and truth will be the domain of the educated and intelligent again. Those who lack the former will twist in the wind of whatever thought guides they have chosen.

Ok, who’s spraying vinegar in the stratosphere? Wow
I just use a spray bottle from the shed.
A couple of sprays and poof, it's gone, of course it takes a couple of minuets to reach the chem trails. Works every time.

Edit: I should of watched the video. Here I thought I was being original.
Hey @hanimmal, suggest to them that they do a youtube search on some of their favorite topics followed by the word "debunked".

The news yesterday was full of a story about a Facebook video that shows how to test your food for artificial ingredients. It is complete and utter horseshit claiming that "big business" is putting plastic in your rice. Yet it has been seen 93 million times. 93,000,000!

So they believe in chemtrails? Dare them to watch some videos after searching for "chemtrails debunked"

I am just posting this one because I like it so much. It shows the type of people involved in believing this shit.

Here's another. I love these people. "We never used to notice these ground level rainbows before." "This cannot be natural." "What the hell is going on?"

Yet another reason why I no longer go over to my in-laws unless absolutely necessary... Last night my wife and kid went over there for dinner as I was having dinner in the city. She had to sit through her brother's diatribe about how Walmart should be avoided on Friday evenings because that's "when all the gays go shopping". He wondered aloud why he has to watch all those gays walking together with their shopping carts.

I would have asked him why "the gays" all had to live most of their lives subject to discrimination and violence just so he didn't have to suffer through seeing them walking together. Then I would have brought up many of the things that I have been forced to see done by fat, stupid, redneck white Wal-Mart shoppers and asked him if seeing two men walking together brought up any uncomfortable feelings in him.

This is why I no longer go over to my wife's family's home.

That last one is why it is so nice we are started to get shit delivered to us. That poor lady. I can only imagine what happened, she must have went to bathroom and couldn't move well enough and realizes she needs a cell phone to get help.
