Should I add quantum boards to my CMH closet? Thoughts?

Hey everyone. So I just ordered 3 HLG 100 quantum boards to add around my CMH lights. 2 for the outsides, and 1 for the middle. I ordered the 3000k version, to go with the 3100k cmh. It's mainly my flower room. I wanted to check them out anyways, so they will be fun to experiment with. I was going to add another cmh, but then I think I'd have to get a bigger fan and don't feel like doing that if I don't need to. Just wondering what you guys think? Is anyone out there running both? Here's a pic of my closet now with the 2 cmh's. Thanks for your input.

That's what I like to hear. I was thinking it might be a good combination of light, heat, and UV. I'm just excited to try these LED's I've been hearing so much about. Gonna be fun.

why would you bother lol cmh would out power the leds and would be a waste of time and money

from a veteran cmh grower for 1 u did not train your plant and also u have the bulbs way to far away from the plants peace

Hey rob333, no offense, but please don't reply to my threads. I'm trying to be nice about this. And just so nobody gets confused, the Green Crack on the left was Mainlined, and the Sunset Sherbert on the right I started way later, so I just suppercropped her. The lights are at 19". Pictures can be deceiving. Peace.

I like running a blue spectrum (currently using 6500K) under my canopy to keep transpiration high.
It is to counter the green light that otherwise results from light travelling through leaves.
Green light is like a signal to lower leaves that they are in the shade and so they transpire less.
At least that is my understanding.

I think it's a good idea. CMH are not the best penetrating lights. I have a 6 bulb T5 for side lighting. I would use them the same as side lighting.

Good to know. When I put em in, I'll start up a journal. I am totally happy with the results from just 2 cmh lights so far. I had the closet packed last round and definitely won't be running out of herb anytime soon, so I kept it a little simpler this time. I'm really curious how the quantum boards compares to the cmh. It's gonna be fun experimenting.

Yeah, it will be interesting to see how they compare. I was tossing up between the 2 for my 1st indoor in over 20 years. I decided on the quantum boards and couldn't be happier so far.

Like I said your gonna wanna use the boards for side lightning. You can go much closer then 19" from a 315. Check this out. I do have AC blowing right across the tops. Nice Blue back. I know they can get closer than 19", but thought 19" was the sweet spot. Last time I kept em at 18" and a couple colas definitely got closer than that and they were still happy. So what do you find to be the sweet spot for your cmh lights? Also, I should tell everyone that I ordered 2 hlg 260 in Rspec and a hlg 135 in Rspec to go in there instead. I will use the 100s in my veg tent, or extra side lighting like your saying.
