We go fishing there every year. It's one of my favorite spots in the world.Lol. I do live right next to the big reservoir it’s called Quabbin. It is literally right down at the end of my street.
Looking good.Updated photos of my girls. About 8 wks from seed now. The two little plants on the ends are autos which are well into flower - the bud photos are from these plants. The 3 others are photoperiod and still have a long way to go. Still feeding nothing but water and homemade compost tea.
Thanks! Nikon Z6 - photography is a hobby of mineLooking good.
What camera are you using? Very nice quality.
Welcome aboard DJ!This year will be my first cannabis grow in 20 years, glad to have found this forum as there's a ton of good info here, especially being a 617 grower. My wife and I have a nice little garden for strawberries, beans, cucumbers and kitchen herbs, and figured let's give our green thumb an application at some recreational items as well.
Given I've started late, I'm growing 2 sets of auto-flowering plants from fast-buds. First is Smoothie (4) and the second is West Coast OG (4). Doing these in two 2'x4'x12" raised bed gardens. I've never done autoflowering, so I'm kinda excited to see how quickly this turns around. They were started in a little icecube tray bio-dome, and are all about 1"-2" currently, moving them into the raised beds this weekend.
I also received 3 clones from a friend, a strain called Honey Badger Haze These are currently in 3g pots and have been moved outside last week. Those are roughly 18" and I've just topped each plant for the first time. Likely will move those into 7g pots in a couple weeks, as they're not going to develop into much later in the season (at least compared to the autoflowers) but have a good head start (at least six weeks). Still, I'm worried these are going to depend on how wet the fall is....
So my primary question is maybe a bit off-topoc around the use of mosquito netting. Will it block too much sunlight? I'm worried about bugs / critters / birds, and thought this would be my best bet... but I don't want to deprave these plants of too much sun.
Can you say “holy shit!!!” Be safe! black thumb.Monday night, my brother, his wife and myself are standing out in the pool area looking at the plants. Just talking...hanging out. We start to hear a noise. My brother asked "what the hell is that sound?"
I immediately said, "that's a helicopter flying very low. Like, repelling hight...". Sure enough, 10 seconds later, a Statie helicopter comes screaming up over the roof of our garage. He was literally about 100ft off the deck. Close enough to move the water in the pool.
So we are just sitting there amongst all my big beautiful plants, the 3 of us, making literal eye contact with this dude flying the helicopter. He hung there for a 10 or 15 seconds. I waved, he just looked at us, and then turned and flew off to the north toward the state park.
It was the craziest thing I've ever seen a statie do in a helicopter. I called the local police and asked why a statie helicopter was in my back yard and got maybe the most shady answer ever...she said "we've been advised everything is fine and there is nothing to worry about." Hahaha...WHAT!?! I laughed and hung up.
Obviously they were looking for someone, this dude saw people and came in for a closer look, but the local cops didnt want to freak everyone out by saying "some dude is lose in your woods".
I was never concerned for our safety...we have 2 dogs over 120lbs and physical safety is something my wife and I take VERY seriously (wont get into specifics here, but I'm confident saying we are "equipped" and could handle 5-10 armed "escapees" with no warning), but still...it was just a crazy and funny turn of events.
Haha...we will be! Thanks! Can you say “holy shit!!!” Be safe! black thumb.
