NEED SOME IDEAS ON A WAY TO BE ABLE TO WATER INSIDE THE TENT AND BE ABLE TO CATCH RUNOFF

I USE A 3X3 TENT AND I WOULD LIKE TO FIND A WAY TO SET UP A SYSTEM WHERE I CAN WATER THE PLANT INSIDE THE TENT AND HAVE A TRAY UNDERNEATH THAT SLIDES IN AND OUT TO CATCH RUN OFF WITHOUT HAVING TO MOVE THE PLANT. I HAVE BEEN STRUGGLING WITH HAVING TO LIFT THE PLANT ONTO A WIRE RACK PLACED OVER A TRAY THAT CATCHES THE RUN OFF AND WHEN THE PLANT IS DONE DRAINING I HAVE TO LIFT IT BACK ONTO A DRY SAUCER SO THAT I CAN DUMP THE RUN OFF WATER. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO DO INSIDE OF A 3X3. I SOMETIMES HAVE TO TAKE THE PLANT OUT OF THE TENT TO DO THIS. IT DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OF THE CARBON FILTER WHEN I HAVE TO KEEP TAKING IT IN AND OUT, NOT TO MENTION THAT IT IS HEAVY AND AWKWARD (5 GALLON FABRIC SOIL CONTAINER) I AM LOOKING FOR A PERMANENT SOLUTION SUCH AS SOME TYPE OF STRONG WIRE SHELF RACK OR SOMETHING SIMILAR THAT IS ELEVATED SO THAT THE PLANT COULD REST ON TOP OF IT AND I COULD JUST SLIDE THE PAN OUT FROM UNDER IT WHEN IT DRAINS AFTER WATERING. DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS PROBLEM? ANY IDEAS ON WHAT I COULD USE FOR A RACK AND HOW I COULD KEEP IT ELEVATED? THANKS

Two ideas for you

1. You could either make/buy a flood table that is slightly raised and just have your run off come out the drain hole into a catch.

2. You can keep your plants in flats and water till run off and then use a shop vac to vacuum up any runoff.

Grab some plastic oil pans from autozone...or similar and suck the water out with a shop vac or if you can dump it, then do so..

what I do is I put a 14 inch saucer upside down with holes drilled in it in the center of a 16 inch saucer with a 1 inch bulkhead grommet with a drain tube on the side of the 16 incher, raise it up and drain into a rubbermaid container.

I run a couple 3x3 and for real don't spend much time at all working on em. I put saucer or tray under them and have a small shop vac I use for run off. I would like to have a ebb and flow tray in each tent with a drain but them I have to elevate the plants and lose height and I don't really have the room for it. This one has a tray from like farm store in bottom I think for dogs but the plant saucers made vacuuming quicker so I'll be back to that after this run.

Double bucket idea was mentioned. Look at a Waterfarm...something like those buckets. I think American Plastic sells nesting buckets.

OK...now a tray idea. You can find trays about the right size at appliance store for under washing machine. Mine came with a drain fitting to attach hose. Ho,e Depot sells them.

Towels lots and lots of towels. I did that for years, just let the run off go in the tent tray which is water proof and chuck a towel in to soak it up, next day throw it in the wash and chuck another one in.
WARNING TOWELS WILL DISOLVE OVER TIME.

I got bored of that method, it depends on how many plants your growing but I used two tomato bag trays raised 6" off the floor, drilled a hole in the corner, (slight angle on the tray) then I had a shallow res, just a deeper tray under those holes and either shop vac that water up or have a tiny aquarium pump, or if like me your above the ground floor syphon it into a bucket.
You can get hand pumps which work well too.

Now im not in bigger tents I just let the run off go in the tent tray and get out the shop vac.

use a wet vacuum to suck up the water and dump that is pretty easy.
I love air pots , since theyre plastic they keep the base of the plant above where any water would be sitting. when its time to water again the other water has evaporated

For my 4 plants I use 2 large trays approx 1ft x3ft and I made a platform that’s slightly sloped on one side.

Drilled a hole in the lower side of the trays and my plants sit on the trays.

Then I just water as normal and the runoff runs down the trays to the hole and I use a jug to catch the runoff and empty away.

The platform sits around 8” high off the floor.

Lots of different ideas in here. I still vote shop vac but if you live with other people and are trying to hide it is kinda suspicious to be vacuuming same time every night. Shop vac is super easy and fairly cheap for a small one and palnt saucers are only a few dollars.

To the guys who just let it run off in bottom of tent does it eventually peel the coating off the floor?

Im cheap as all hell... Soooo. I basically baught wallmart plastic shelving cut the legs just so they are tall enuff for my sliding trays to catch... Then i put my pots in a platic tray about the same size as my catchers... Elevated using a copper looking wire basket from wallmart... Then i drilled holes through the pot holding trays and the plastic shelving at the same time... Not drill, heated and melted.. So they drain straight through... Slide the trays out and dump.. Cheap easy...

I use 3x3 flood trays on cinder blocks, slightly sloped forward. The forward slope leads to a drain hole, with under the bed style plastic containers to catch the runoff on the actual floor. Usually just pull them out and dump, but if they get too full to move without spilling I just pump them first.
