Please exsplain what each one does differently? Both make for a bushier plant correct? But what are the specifics of each one or that benefits the other doesnt have?

From my experimenting I see if you FIM without LST you get a lot of the buds pretty close together, possibly a good thing if you don't have much space, but it looks like the plant benefits from some training afterwards to optimise air flow and light penetration.

I like to spread the leaves open and just snip out that little bit in the middle.

Worse that can happen is you don't cut deep enough and nothing happens or you cut a bit too deep and end up with just a topped plant.

Worth a go especially if doing it earlier to prepare a plant for some decent ScroGing.

Helltownhero,
I've been doing manifold training and it's an excellent way to control height. It involves topping and lst early on...and later...you just let em grow. There are a couple tutorials. Nugbucket and Nebula haze both wrote tutorials with slightly different methods.

@hotrodharley...hey dude, I know you've been having ph meter issues. Me too. But recently I bought hanna meter electrode cleaning solution. Made lots of difference. I was needing to calibrate too often...and the cleaner helps. Thought I'd pass that along to you. Enjoy the summer.

I top 3 times and supercrop early. I can control the canopy height pretty well. Especially helpful now with the fixed reflector.

I started checking pH again with these Mega Crop nutes and tho the 7 year old pen would calibrate OK it was very slow to respond. I have 2-part cleaning sol'ns and gave them a good cleaning with that and it really improved response. The little reference electrode was almost completely black and was a light grey after cleaning.

The clones just took root in soil the other day and are really starting to grow fast...is it safe to top now since there roots are established? Or wait annother few days

Ya, before...I'd have to calibrate almost every use or I'd get strange results. But I can see where a clean electrode would give the best results. I just can't determine the drops method. I am a little color blind. So I like having a meter with solid results...so I can keep my coco feedings at 5.8. That's when they are happiest. Stoned...
