Trying to get the most out of grow room. Currently using DWC thinking about making a RDWC Tote system, through out the whole room. Or do a SOG grow what are your suggestions?
Amazing grow room!!! I understand what you mean by side lighting, one thing I need to master is trellis.Just a thought - If you want to keep growing bigger sized plants, look into adding some side lighting provided you are able to cool it. I actually get more canopy out of my flowering rooms by having aisles to walk through and using the "side canopy" with trellis and side lighting. I get nice colas on the sides and the tops this way. Overall the room yields better this way than if I packed it with plants and had to crawl under them to water. You might look at my grow journal to see if you get any ideas for your setup.
A SoG has the benefit of little to no veg, but you need a LOT more plants. I used to run SoG before I had a legit plant count. I learned to grow them big because of a plant count. Now I get more out of a room because of it. I do have to veg a while but I do that in my veg room under less lighting while other plants are flowering.
Get a good a product like hortitrellis not that cheap string stuff lol. The string stretches too much and it sheds little fibers into your flowers.Amazing grow room!!! I understand what you mean by side lighting, one thing I need to master is trellis.
I see you like vertical lighting rather than overhead lighting, is that because light reaches more of the plant?Get a good a product like hortitrellis not that cheap string stuff lol. The string stretches too much and it sheds little fibers into your flowers.
It's just a good way to get side light. I have 6 x 1kW DE HPS overhead in each room, thats the main source of light. The side lighting is about another 3600 watts.I see you like vertical lighting rather than overhead lighting, is that because light reaches more of the plant?
Those look great by the way! I'm hoping to up my game and kick out some good looking plants like that!Trying to get the most out of grow room. Currently using DWC thinking about making a RDWC Tote system, through out the whole room. Or do a SOG grow what are your suggestions?
Get some good AC and hang a bunch of lights. lol Really though, planning is key. I had my whole grow planned on paper before I built anything. I built in stages due to the cost of setting up a large grow.Im seriously looking into vertical bulbs. I recently got a new place with a 12x18 basement. Cement floors and an extra room for veg and clones. This will only be 3rd grow... I'm paralyzed by all the new space, and being a newbie still. I don't even know where to start...
I like this, BUT as someone who started small and worked up I'll give some advice. Decide now what's the max amount of space and watts your willing to use when you do upgrade. Then buy stuff that you can use in the bigger room. Don't do like me and buy some tents with nice expensive lights then decide to completely change direction and build a room. Don't get me wrong I loved my tents but now I have a bunch of extra equipment I don't use that I paid a lot of money for.Start small and build your way up, as your knowledge and experience grows.
Do you have a chiller or gonna get one? The pump that moves the water in rdwc introduces heat to the water and you will need a way to remove it. I like dwc and it looks like you have a good grasp on it. I did dwc for years with great results but only a few plants at a time. Big dwc scares me cause separate buckets is too much work yet when you plumb them altogether there are so many things that can go wrong. From leaks to pump failures to root issue or disease spreading from plant to plant. So for that reason I don't do dwc anymore, but man does it grow fast and yield good when dialed.Trying to get the most out of grow room. I agree. the larger setup's are nice, but I don't buy the ease of them. I imagine its a lot of work keeping track of your resevoir and water temps. I'm currently a working stiff, and a grower on the side. 60-70 work weeks doesn't give me a lot of garden time. Although I did train myself to get into my rooms at least once in the morning before I leave, and before bed. I was taught this was the best way to learn your plants and how they grow. Seems like solid advice. I like the idea of something that doesn't consume lots and lots of time. I mean I'm dedicated to my garden, but there is only so much time in a week.Do you have a chiller or gonna get one? As long as you have the time and money to set it up properly and keep up with it you should kill it.
lmao. wait for harvest time.I like the idea of something that doesn't consume lots and lots of time.
Yes I will eventually invest in water chiller after this harvest that will be my next big buyDo you have a chiller or gonna get one?
