gg#4 - I can't keep smoking this shit

I just had a solid first harvest with gg#4 and something strange has happened. I've been smoking myself stupid for the better part of 2 weeks now, and I really don't think I can continue smoking the shit. It's so strong that it makes me completely dysfunctional like when I eat too many edibles. Simple math is nearly impossible - it's that bad. I have no interest in running gg#4 again unless it's by request for patients. I certainly would not grow it for myself and I would only recommend it for sleep. Smoking it during the day just makes me feel like an unmotivated no energy having piece of shit. I really don't understand why this strain became so popular. Blue dream and hash plant are special strains that every grower should grow at some point in their life. GG#4 is interesting, but far from special.

I paid $340 for an ounce of gg#4 at a dispensary in Lansing last year and it was very similar. It was so potent and strong that I felt like I was at the tail end of an acid trip from the high. It was quite unpleasant. I really don't remember tripping acid ever being quite that uncomfortable.

It seems like there's this modern interest in breeding ultra potent strains that just make you stoned and tired. How is that cool or interesting? Strains like hash plant and blue dream were absolutely incredible and unique in the highs they produced. With both strains I discovered that you can have potency, flavor, and a uniquely incredible high that didn't simply make you "tired" and "stoned." If you've grown either strain then you know what I'm talking about.

I really think gg#4 has only 1 application: sleep. Am I alone on an island here or does anybody else feel me?

I'm growing gg#4 right now but it's not the original it's a sativa pheno. But I long for the original bc its everything you're describing, as it's been described by others, that's exactly what my patients are looking for is a strong indica couch lock stone I only have one patient that is looking for a cerebral high.

I don't want a cerebral high, but I don't want to be glued to the floor either. I feel like there's a misconception about what kind of high a sativa or sativa dominant strain will produce. I have only grown one sativa which was blue dream. It flowered 11 weeks and had the most complex aroma and flavor I have ever experienced. The high made you just smile. You were most certainly stoned, but not sleepy or tired. I really never experienced anything like it before. It was all genetics and had nothing to do with my growing ability.

I'm going to pick out a nice tropical sativa for my next strain. In a perfect world I would find blue dream again, but I won't hold my breath. Those long sexy serrated leaves had a beautiful appearance. Extremely leggy with her branches, but the payoff well worth the space and effort.

That's the cerebral high I'm talking about, when I was a kid we smoked a joint of Strawberry hydro that's back in the day when hydro meant the cream of the crop, we smoked it and I got visuals right away, as I brought the joint to my face it got smaller instead of bigger, then all of a sudden it was like looking through a weird lense all of a sudden I had eagle vision and everything far away looked huge and everything up close looked tiny, anyway that lasted for 10 mins then for like 2 hours all I did was laugh my face off, I made one attempt to grow it but it wasnt the same, but yes good sativa should put a smile on your face, where as indica should make your face a zombie, that's what most people around here are looking for most people want a heavy narcotic affect they can't appreciate the happy high cuz its more subtle.

This is how it makes me too, it's an energy high. My girl gets the opposite, couch lock to the max. I know mine is the true #4 cut and not some seed. Maybe that makes some difference.

You really just typed "for reals?" SMH...

Some people are just mouth breathers that want to be as inebriated as they can get without any consideration for complexity or depth of high. Budweiser sells a lot of piss water, but if you're looking for a complex high or flavor you'd be far better off with a nicely aged single malt scotch. Ya feel me? Both will produce the effect of being "drunk", but each will produce a far different quality of "drunk". Life's short, I don't want nature's version of budweiser. I want nature's version of that there single malt scotch we discussed...but to each their own.

I was thinking the same thing. I may not like gg#4, but I've never seen anybody selling it for a discount. Some people just prefer the classic back hand right. gg#4 provides that. I want to be caressed though, my soul massaged a bit, and whisked off into a dreamy intense high that lasts for hours while not making me sleepy. Sativas provide that...

My buddy has a dispensary and he wanted some of my GG4 to grow. I gave him a cut and he ran it by 3 other cuts that were supposedly GG4 from different sources. My cut crushed it, way better than the other cuts he had obtained.

The gg#4 I grew was great for sleeping a real potent couch lock stoned, which I don’t mind before bed. I wouldn’t have it during the day unless it was to watch movies lol but still an awesome high that lasts. I wish I took a clone wasn’t setup for it then though. I ordered some seeds from green point this time so see what happens with the next batch

GG isn't anything special, except to growers... good yield, good demand, minimal issues, makes it a very well paying strain to run.
It has a terpene profile that is uninteresting and almost imperceivable to my fucked up nose.
I was dead keen on running it until I was offered some by a guy who takes pride in his drugs... and I couldn't even smell anything.
