Anyone clone with peat?

I took some cuttings last night and woke up this morning and now they're all slumped over, the stems on all of them just went limp. I have them in pure peat, I did not use the humidity dome, and I really loaded the rooting powder. Anyone have any ideas why they're limp, is this normal? Also the light was on all night that's the normal light period I'm about to shut it off now.

Pure unused peat has a pH of about 4.5. Pro Mix or Sunshine are both amended to address this.

Ok hotrod thanks, yes it is pure peat right outta the bog. Another thing I just thought of is I got two 23 watt cfls but they're not directly over them, everyone has told me that you need very little light.15621662336042389239692680808062.jpg

They, don't need much light at all to root, and a trick I've learned is to premoisten the peat and mix in well before putting it in your cups. I mix in ph'd water and let it sit for a couple of hours before using it. If not it can get dry pockets and literally suck your plants dry.

That's a a good possibility the peat was bone dry and I just soaked the soil already in the cups and let it sit for an hr.

I've cloned in the store bought peat pellets many times, never straight out of the bog though. I always use a humidity dome, and have great success. Just misting them might be enough for you to get them perked back up.
Yes I did give em a mist and i will start using the dome for the first few days. I should mention that it is a professional company that produces the peat but it is local and I know 100% it comes straight from the ground.

Maybe next time you can use a clear water bottle or beer cup ...it makes it easier to know when roots are appearing
Yes maybe I'll take more cuttings and revert back to that method I tried that my first time but I also took the cuttings 3 weeks after flip, I should also mention that this time I took them just 1 day after flip, I dint think it would be a problem they could be stressed out from the flip.

One of the things i do , is starve my plant a week or so (straight water) then take clippings
This might be Bro-science but after taking clippings i feed the plant, i feel i get faster roots

Another thing you can do is root them on a windowsill this time of year,
It lets you keep growing in your box
