When to feed bloom nutes?

Hi All!

I have been growing for ages and I still dont even know the answer to this question.

I have tried using veg nutes for the first week of flower then bloom nutes that worked ok. I then tried the first two weeks with veg food and then bloom nutes and that worked fine aswell.

I am thinking of using veg nutes for the first 3 weeks and then bloom nutes for the rest. I can see flowers only really start developing from week 3. So surely I should only feed them bloom nutes when they start blooming fully?

Thanks!

The best advice I can give is compost worm casting and perlite and when they start to flower I use rose bloom feed yes for rose top dress once and then water and no need to flush either. As for dwc Remo’s nutrients not organic and expensive but good

Hi Porky,
The presence of increased P and K from bloom nutes or bloom booster can help stimulate flowering...so I start right after the stretch is mostly over. At 2 week point...usually...depending on strain.

@Porky101 depends on the strains being grown. The indica hybrids I grow that are say 60%i indica 40% sativa their stretch is done by week 3. Sativas I have no idea about.
I have been growing the same plant for years. Its an indica and real flowers show week 3 , stretch ends week 3. Ok thanks for your replies...I guess I will now feed veg food until week 3.

Peace out brothers!!!

Hi zypher...just to throw a little pertinent info out there. Stretch is related to total flowering time. The number is like 25%. So 8 week strain gives you 2 week stretch. A 14 week sativa would probably stretch 3 1/2 weeks or so.

I'd trust the opinions on Uk420 as much as I'd trust the Communist loser that runs it. Shit site, shit people, shit. The end.

Seems you have gotten the right idea. You feed flower nutrients when they begin to actually form flowers. That being said I feed the same nutrients all through the plants life in a fairly balanced ratio. I just increase the amount as they flower and need a bit more.
