Hi Frank,
Not an auto guy...but like Hempire said...there's gonna be recovery time and it may mess with the plants internal clock.
I currently have a pure sativa that won't kick in to stretch mode after manifold training. I raised it up to get better light and was thinking maybe, it being a 14 week strain, everything is slow. But I am worried I stunted it.

PS If you really want to try it...I say go for it if you have the time and the space.

I don’t know about it being the same as topping... you strip a lot away when mainlining... then there’s the time spent letting the trunk establish to hold the stems, branches and colas... in which YOU control the veg time... not so with autos... if it wants to flower in week 5... it does so...but what the hell... there only seeds
