transplanting coco into FFOF?

Hi everybody, ive got 2 plants in 5 gal smart pots that have been vegging in coco, would it be wise to transplant into a larger pot of coco or fox farms ocean forest soil? im concerned that the roots from coco may not want to root into soil, and the reason im asking is because i cant keep up on watering basically twice a day and feeding outdoors when i know moving to FFOF will help hold water and sustain nutes. any suggestions?

I don't think ffof holds more water than coco.
I think going with 5gal of coco into bigger pot of ffof wouldn't be wise.

Just pot up and water less often or set up a auto feeding system if you want to water multiple times a day.

Oh the coco drys out in a matter of hours, so i water in the morning and evening. i'm not confident in drip systems currently. I understand that they will root, my concern will be that having a coco center plug surrounded by a different medium will cause some sort of de-lamination layer between the two or a gap in a sense

Well the way I see it you would have two mediums with totally different requirements in ph and nutrient needs and have a lot of your root mass in coco needing plenty of nutrients while the newer roots are in ffof getting fed and then overdosed when you feed what the coco would need.
If they were real small I think you would get away with it but they are not so I would stick to one medium and just massively up pot.

Five gallons of coco inside of FFOF isn't the path I'd take. Think about something like this with 100% coco coir.

How long have you been vegging in your 5 gallons? Most definitely you can go from coco to soil. People do it daily, but its more like 6 inch container to 5 gallon pot. And if this is an outdoor garden you basically have to make the switch. If you didn't you'd be watering every hour during flower.

The problem I see your having is that more than likely due to evaporation than the plants drinking it all up.
I have to wrap a strip of black and white poly around my smart pots outside and depending on what the pots are sitting on I'll have to take a piece of poly and sit the pots on it also. If the ground they are sitting on is dry, it'll suck the moisture right out of the pot.

oh wow thank you everybody for your responses. they have been vegging for about 3mo now, I can stick with coco without issues i believe, dont want to test it out now
