Well you can top feed it with a little pool shock to kill off the stench making bacteria, then use a combination of an enzyme product to break down dead tissue and beneficial bacteria like the Southern AG Garden Friendly Fungicide or Hydroguard or my favorite Tribus. The beneficial bacteria won't be able to help until the remnants of the pool shock treatment are gone.

What Renfro said...you also may want to revaluate your watering schedule, as root rot (other than hydroponics like DWC, Ebb n Grow, etc) usually only sets in when water is being applied too oftenly, never getting a chance to dry out giving the bad bacteria plenty of time to reproduce and spread.
Pool shock seems rather drastic to me, anyway doesn't seem to smell too bad anymore, probably let resivour dry out too much. Hempy bucket is a drain to waste hydro setup, just flushed it and keeping resivour from drying up. Plants seem to be fine. Thanks for the input.

Pool shock only a few granules is perfectly safe
I use the same water in my ez cloner all winter with a touch
Plants don't mind at all
They do mind slimy smelly water though

Pool shock is just chlorine, if memory serves. Won't hurt your roots unless you mix a batch of it up too concentrated.

i run hempy buckets, and i keep them sterile. i use 34% h2o2, 3 ml per gallon every third watering, keeps them nice and sterile, no shit smell when i cut a plant and pull the root ball, just a lot of healthy roots

Now that looks like the ticket. My fourth hempy grow with 100% pearlite and still learning. My plants are better and better as I get my nutrients dialed in. Looks like a little bit goes a long way. Thanks for the tip.

Yeah I keep a poker handy to clear hole. I learned this the hard way once, wondering why my bucket was so heavy.

bought that two years ago and still have half of it.....
This product also 12%. Read in Amazon reviews that it was lab tested at 12% by independent lab. That's ok, I now know how much to use and that it works.

i haven't tested it, but i know it'll burn the hell out of you in less than a minute if you get it on you, and the ten % i had before wouldn't actually burn me, it would bleach my skin a little, but not hurt me. this hurts, pretty quick. it's way stronger than 12%. i use 3 ml per gallon, and it works great
