Lighting Advice for a large grow.

Looking to set up new rooms with 20 - 40 lights each room flowering. I've been using gavita 1000w in the past and they have been pretty good for the price and what they offer.

I would like some input on 1000w CMH Des or even 2 315s for every 1000w DE. I'm leaning slightly towards the CMH over the HPS due to power consumption, cooling for my ACs, and bulb life. The downside being almost double the cost.

Well I have some experience with the DE CMH. It doesn't seem to run a lot cooler than the HPS, maybe a little less but not a lot, I think it has less IR. I noticed the yields were less, buds fluffy but the resin production was great with the CMH. Were it my setup I would probably just stick with all HPS but you could add some CMH in there by spacing the 1kW HPS out a touch more and putting a 315 in there centered between 4 HPS lights. IMO just more bulbs to change. lol.

If you really wanna save on energy then look at the nice COB LED lights by Timber. They are expensive but they can pay for themselves in 2 years of energy savings.

What do you recommend for veg? Im thinking 315s but might need something stronger for the bigger trees. Ive only ever used hps all the way through

In my veg room I had been using 1kW MH but I switched to some Nanolux 1kW DE CMH in there and it's working great. The CMH lights in veg cover a larger area for me and I get big trees with fat trunks. They stretch a bit more than the MH did so a little longer internode spacing, not as bad as HPS tho.

Def possible that i just missed it along the way. Your journal has been all about that flowering tho, so havent been many veg pics that i recall. Just big ole 5x5x5 trees lol

yeah I may have had shots of the vegging plants a few times ;)
