Ok as it seems, everybody agrees that the number one most important issue for growrooms is security. since i am moving into an apartment complex that is very large and i have a ridiculous walk in closet i will be doing my first grow here. i feel that my biggest securtiy risk is going to be smell during harvest. my question is if i were to put two carbon filters on my grow tent would the extra filter work or would it be pointless? how i was thinking to set it up is to put the carbon filter then flex ducting to one end of the air cooled hood, flex ducting from the other end of the air cooled hood to the inline fan, so the first carbon filter sucks the air through to clean it. then flex ducting running from the other end of the inline fan running outside the tent pushing air through carbon filter number two. would this system filter the air more effiently, or is that a big waste of time and money?

1, the smell is the worst during the VEG or GROW stage. They quit stinking as strongly during the FLOWER stage.
2, I have never heard a grower say he could perfectly remove all of the smell or odor. If you grow Indica, which is what the majority of growers grow in doors, then you are going to have a big STINK, and you need to attack that STINK with several different FILTERING systems. The most you can hope for is to VENT the STINK out. (this is all just my opinion from experience) I've done 9 GROWS and I added more filtration to each GROW and theys till stink. I have 3 OZONE FILTERS, A febreeze FILTER AND TWO HOME MADE CARBON FILTER systems. They all help, especially if I keep the door closed, but you need to expect and deal with a VERY STONG CAT SHIT - SKUNK smell.
And MOST IMPORTANT, rembember to spray some HOME GUARD or insecticide all around the floor, baseboard and corners of the closet, to prevent spider mites. They will find a moist warm closet and ruin a good grow

the SMELL is Much WORST during VEG than it is during FLOWER.
The Smell, that Skunk Cat Shit smell, comes from the burning of nitrogen. Like a fart after eating meat. When you go to 12/12, the BLOOM or FLOWERING stage, you change nutes that contain less nitrogen, and the STINK is not as strong. The STINK is not fromt eh flowers, it is from the leaves and what the leaves release into the air, after they eat.

all you will need is a good carbon filter and a box that has no leaks so smell cannot get out unless through your carbon filter. If there is still smell after hooking up a good carbon filter than it is either you have vent leaks or your carbon filter is not hooked up properly / it is not big enough. Pretty sure you will only need one good carbon filter

Your logic makes total sense, but it goes 100% against what I have seen first hand. I've finished 5 grows, started 7 (I get really paranoid), and in all of them the flowering was much stronger of a stench than in the grow phase.

I understand what roseman is saying and i know someone who actually told me like a week ago that his mothers usually stink more than his flowering. But personally for me my flowering room stinks just as much as my veg. If anything my veg gives more of a potent "green" smell.

I've never heard anyone say there plants smell more in veg than they do in bloom...my plants smell good in veg but they straight up stink the whole block up when in bloom....and they stink like the strain I'm growing if I grow something different they have a different stink.........when i flush all the nitrogen and nutes out of my soil the last 2 weeks they start to stink the worst, my whole house and neighborhood has a skunky fruity smell......so the logic of the stink coming from the breakdown of nitrogen makes no sense at all, then all plants would smell like that not just cannabis....the more resin glands and turpines the more stink, and also what strain are you growing, some stink more then others.....

Just don 't get too comfortable with them. Insense works wonders as long as it's burning, which is what like 30 min? then light another one? too much work for me.
I did it once, it was a bad idea.
Not too bad as like a third or fourth level of resistance though.
Personally I have a DIY carbon filter, a kick ass ozone generator, and a jar of ona gel just in case.

I had to revive this from 11 years ago lol who the fks veg room stink way the hell more than their flower room. This must have been back when northern lights was the most potent strain and white widow was just being discovered lol. I leave my veg room door open in the summer cant smell nothing have 2x 8" carbon filters in the flower room 12 plants a bit over 1000 cubic feet still smell skunk on occasion outside. Even when i was growing 20 years ago you couldnt smell the veg plants nearly as much as the budding ones

Just be ready to spend some money on a good carbon filter. I run the big one with a 10” fan in all my spots. They are not cheap but are essential even in legal states
I can’t say it enough. If a bust is going to happen 9-10 times someone smelled something. Be it a neighbor or a passerby. Besides it’s a douche move to make your neighbors deal with the smell anyway, quick way to make enemy’s and create frustration that leads to trouble.
You want to size your fan so you have negative pressure. That way any leaks will be into the room rather then out of it.
