Purple Kush flowering time...

I am doing an outdoor grow in eastern Canada and am wondering when my 2 plants may start flowering. I am a bit concerned as frost in my part of the world can happen as early as the 2nd week of September. I was thinking mid August they may start to flower. I was given them as clones in early June. ....so they are maybe 8 weeks old....not really sure. Pics included if that helps....

How would you force an outdoor plant to flower early?
Stick them in the dark at say 10pm and back out at 10am to get them flowering early. I'm at almost 56N in northern Alberta and we've had frost as early as Aug 15 tho the last few years it's been coming a lot later. I gave up doing outdoor grows many years ago. Always end up covered in mites and thrips too.

What’s super disappointing is a couple of hard freezes followed by a long Indian summer.

Sometimes i will take a milk jug or a large wine bottle filled with water, bury it a couple of inches into the soil. This helps with borderline freezes. Combined with a tarp at night can go a long ways.

No shit eh. That's what happens here every f'n year. Same shit in the spring and this year the wife decided to stick her tomatoes in the ground earlier than usual and damn near lost them all. I told her to wait until June 7.

I can create a space out side using a tarp under my deck which is 6 ft off the ground. But I will be away for a week in August and I doubt if the person taking care of my stuff will want to play the hiding game.

Actually I can properly protect them from hard frosts into October, by building a protected light proof shelter under the deck. Maybe delay flowering til last week of August. Then let them flower into the fall.

Does a space need to be completely dark?
Should be black as coal but without constant daily coverup it likely won't work.

Probably best to do that then. Should be done naturally by or before the middle of Oct when I plan to be out in BC catching Coho salmon on my b-day on the 14th. :)

I grew up in the Vancouver area and guys grow freaking trees in the ground out there with no cover but it rarely gets frost or snow before Dec if at all.

Hopefully your house sitter will at least water your plants while you're gone.
