Hi all. I'm not actually new to the hobby, but I have restarted recently after about a few year break and forgot a surprisingly lot of info. Anyway. I got two clones around July 10-15. Both are in coco and I went directly from solo cups to 5 gallon smart pots. The right plant looks over watered. The left has really skinny leaves, considering it is a heavy indica. Or at least I thought it was. I'm feeding them between .8-1.0 EC strength, 5.8ish ph. I'm using h&g coco nutes. I was told I dont need to add calmag with their nutes.sorry if I left any important info out. Can anyone help where I might be going wrong.

more info
what lights
how close?
temperature
humidity
fans and how fast theyre blowing
i dont do hydro but i think what type of coco u used and how you pre-wash/soaked it is important.
they seem like from the pictures maybe they need a little more moisture around the pot it looks a little dry around the edges so maybe more frequent waterings with less water?

someone with better hydro experience will be able to chime in once u provide this info and help you on your way

edit: Also what size chamber

more info:
lights: started out with t5's and just put them under a 400 mh today. the light is about 2 ft away
Temp: 75-79 lights on...72 lights off
humidity: 49%
Fans: two powerful inline fans. one for the lamp and one for carbon filter. and then I have desk fan and an oscilating fan.
-They look dry because I just transplanted them from a solo cup to 5 gal pots....so I didn't* soak the whole 5 gal pot,...i just watered around it as if it were only a one gallon pot to encourage strong, healthy root growth.
-the brand of coco is Motherearth with 70% coco and 30% perlite. I was under the impression that all brands of coco was the same, just different branding, but ive been wrong many times before. thanks for replying so fast!

to me it seems the light change should be slower, try shutting off the light and turning it back on for more hours each day. the plants are already happy with the t5's so leave those on but now gradually give them more mH.
this is acclimating it to a light source, so should be practiced between HID, LED, and sunlight. t5 always seemed pretty gentle
what im asking here is was the MH the problem do you think?

no, i dont think the switch from the t5's to the Mh was the issue. they were showing these problems when they were still under the t5. ive never had light issue from changing lights too fast in the past, as long as i just keep it from getting to close. but i can try hardening them off for a longer period of time before I put them back under the MH. im considering it. Im going to let it stay under the MH for a few more hours and see how things are. Thank you for the advice man! much appreciated

Looks like they could use some cal mag
That was exactly my thought as well. So I gave them some calmag today even though my local hydro guy says that its not needed with h&g nutes. but yea i gave it a light calmag feeding a few hours ago

the thing is (at least for me), is that a lot of cannabis cultivating issues sound like a duck. but i think you are correct about the calmag issue. normally, i would let time tell me, but these strains were expensive as fuck

I think it was an overwater issue when I transplanted up to such a large pot from the solo cup. They are bouncing back now. still open to other possibilities if anyone sees them. thanks guys

no, use their A and B, their multi-zen, sometimes the root juice stuff,...and then I use some products from botanicare, liquid Karma and silica.
Read about it. Note it’s an integral part of their feeding schedule. For reasons. Literally part of the regular feeds. Not a suggested supplement.

My guess is stress from the transplant made them droop. One of mine was so root bound that I accidentally damaged some roots when I transplanted... It looked sad for a day, but it's fine now.

Coco is easy. You don't need all that stuff. Just get a good base nutrient that uses calcium nitrate for the main nitrogen source and call it a day. No need for calmag or anything else. Been growing in coco for years. I NEVER have any issues with deficiencies. Plants grow healthy from start to finish. Just give the plant what it needs and a good environment and it will do just fine. Start adding a bunch of additives, boosters, etc... and you can end up with issues. Simple is best. Pretend you're growing hydroponic vegetables and just feed a decent hydroponic fertilizer. Nothing else is needed. Cannabis is just another plant and doesn't require anything special to flourish.

How do the leaves feel?
How much water per watering?
How much run off?
Run off EC?
Leaves feel great. About 10 % run off every watering. I actually haven't checked the runoff since they started bouncing back. Im pretty sure the problem had to do with an issue with the balance between amount of nutes and the light they were receiving. They had spent their first week or so under 3500k t5 lighting,...all the while being fed nutes I would normally only give under full strength lighting. I moved them under my mh as soon as I realized I had them under those weak bulbs. And the transplanting caused some of stress I'm sure. Anyway, I'm a happy guy now with big new vortex fan hah. The thing is an absolute beast at 745 cfm or something. I had to fit that in there :)
