Have I fucked the plant by getting it off the feed to early? I started to lower the nitrogen levels so it would concentrate on budding or should I keep going?

I do a balanced feed from clone to harvest but differant people do differant things.
I use a one part nutrient and personally feel I get better results than I ever got using multi part veg and multi part flower nutrients.

Do whatever you feel works best for you and your environment
