Dimming Timber Grow Lights (Need help)

Hello,

I am upgrading from Mars II 900 to a Redwood from Timber Grow Lights.

The Mars didn't dim, but the Timber does so I'm a big ignorant on how much to dim and when.

Does anyone have some knowledge on the topic of dimming to help me? I'm going to be growing from seed to harvest with the same light.

It's a 4' x 4' tent.

pretty nice lights i remember they told me to use 25%-30% for vegging im using 3000k x4 vero 29 set up,
last time a do it i run dark devils in my first time ind, that smell just wow and hard colas like rocks

this one was veging outside and now 11 days in 12x12 h look like this and already shows shes a girl (im newbi)

also i take her from a friend backyard it was in sand i take her and transplant to that pot when the roots where like the size of a half galon pot and add coco some composted earth and a few worms sometimes i see them go in top of the soil then go back down they r my roomies haha

so this is more like an experiment where i try to save this one than a real run

lux meter would be a more accurate way of doing the same thing, depending on the quality of the lux meter. but a kill-a-watt is useful for all types of things outside of just growing. every household should have one.

as for OP

25%-50% in Veg (160w-320w)
75% in flower (480w) is all you will really need but might as well crank that sucker to 100%

now i understand thats the (W) you take from wall uh

is there much dif using them at 100% taking their life time in consideration?

Ok, that's good to know.

But how about having the lights on 100% during the veg stage though; Is there a drawback?

Know that some meters don't read LED the same as the read HPS. So it's not like we are gonna be able to say run it at a certain level using the light meter. What you can do is use it to document how hard you are running the light and once you figure out what works best in your situation you can easily repeat it. About the only light meter that I could say is really bad ass costs 500 bucks (just ordered one a few days ago lol). Apogee MQ-500 Totally not something you need, I only grabbed one since I am building my own lights and I want to use it for tuning and testing. I have grown for 30 years never having had a light meter.
