First, yes, I'm a Newbie at shroomation, am also a Newbie at growing marijuana in my grow tent. I've made mistakes, but have learned a lot. From Youtube (when I refer to youtube I don't just pick the first video, I look through hundreds of them. If it doesn't sound right....NEXT. And I'm also learning on here. Certain Rollitup members are helping me a LOT. I'm also learning a lot about how to use forums.....yeah, am kinda a Newbie at that.
We all learn in different ways. Do things differently, and have different opinions. If you have constructive things to say that's awesome!!!! I appreciate the input. If all you have to do is criticize me or my methods without giving constructive criticism, then go set next to someone else !!!!!! I'm not a nasty mean person, and bashing people is not my thing.
The reason I'm growing is for micro-dosing with Psilocybin. Chronic back issues, and pain, treatment resistant depression and anxiety are a vicious triad to deal with. I've even discussed this with my psychiatrist of 7 years. He's very progressive, but doesn't have any experience with the effects of Psilocybin or THC. But does admit he's read a few studies. Moreover, he keeps such things off my record. He promised and I have faith in him.
I have no interest in going on a major trip......wellllllll, maybe when I'm feeling better......
I created the monotubs from instructions from a user on youtube. The holes on the sides are covered in breathable tape.
Bought the spores from LittleShopOfSpores.
Spawned them in rye grain bags bought of Amazon. Now this process was taking forever......so, I put the bags in a opaque container and put them on a heating pad with an old towel on the bottom INSIDE the container and then put the spawning bags on top of the towel. Spawned SUPER FAST !!!!
Made substrate from coir, vermiculite, sterilized while mixing with boiling water, following instructions from a user on youtube.
I can't afford a huge pressure cooker right now. Don't want to get one from a thrift store, cuz might be missing a part.
At first I had them on a table in the basement. The mycelium started to take off....then I noticed it started retreating.
So, I was like OMG OMG OMG OMG. So I went on youtube again, and found a guy with the same problem. He put his tubs on a heating pad AND under light. I also separated the monotub from the heating pad with an old towel to prevent it from getting too hot. Yes, yes, yes, I know.....many don't do this and say that it doesn't need light.
But it's working. The mycelium is starting to regrow and when I take a look under the substrate it's alive and well and the environment inside the monotub is humid and water beads on the sides. Woo hoo.
My regrets.....not using a container with a clear top, the the light gets through the white top to work. NOT KEEPING GROW JOURNALS ON EITHER MY SHROOMITATING OR MARIJUANA GROWS.
Attached are some pics......no, it's not totally sterile, nothing like a grow room, and spiders spin webs under the lights. I remove them, but they just come back and re-spin them overnight.
So here are some pics of my set-up.
Thanks for looking !!!!!!
The set-up, yes, the spiders keep building webs under the light, I brush them away but they are back the next day. The black on the bottom is to prevent pinning.
First tub.
More of first tub......grow grow grow!!!!!!
Second tub now taking off.
Awwww......no they aren't HEWG yet, but.......I thought when they open up you're supposed to pick them......I think I might be wrong in this assumption.
Happy shrooming and have a great day !!!!
