Over watering?

Thanks hotrod. It won't damage the roots stabbing them? What do u suggest I use to areate them? Never thought about doing that but saw a thread not to long ago about that.

Maybe a skewer?

It absolutely won’t harm the roots. I use bamboo barbecue skewers myself. I do this before every watering.

Pay attention when you do. You’ll get a whiff of what your finished bud is going to smell like when you start skewering. Especially under the plant. Just a brief sniff.

jorge cervantes suggest using a regular kitchen fork to cultivate the soil/loosen it up. you're so luck you get to grow outside,...never forget that lol. if i could grow outside, i would study the fuck out of no till/living soil container gardening. that seems to be where its at nowdays

I am very lucky to be able to grow outside. Thanks for the idea about the fork I didn't think of that one. This is my third year growing and I've never had a problem with my soil and I have always used Happy Frog. Definitely be doing some research this winter for a better soil!

If she perks up after you water it sounds like you found your problem.
I haven't used them yet, but don't you have to water more often in smart pots anyway? I thought that was one of the selling points, the fabric letting the medium breathe more than plastic, and excess moisture evaporating from the sides of the pot as well as the top.

I've done what @hotrodharley suggests, it didn't hurt my plant at all. She perked up and I didn't need to water her as much. I'm still not going to try it on the girl right in the ground though.

If she perks up after you water it sounds like you found your problem.
I haven't used them yet, but don't you have to water more often in smart pots anyway? I thought that was one of the selling points, the fabric letting the medium breathe more than plastic, and excess moisture evaporating from the sides of the pot as well as the top.

Smart pots compact like other containers. I started deep cultivation after watching water weep from the bag well before it should have as it went around packed areas. After skewering them that stuff stops.

Overwatered or underwaterd? I ran into this with my 20 gal outdoor pots. I was watering 6 gallons every two days for the past three weeks....sometimes every day. Plants started to droop and yellow. I figured it was an overwatering situation. Nope. After a couple days of doing nothing, I drilled a few new holes in the bottom of my pots and the soil was bone dry. I have crushed stone in the bottom of the pots so couldn’t do the finger test to see if the soil was moist. I wasn’t getting runoff the past few waterings but didn’t think it was a big deal. Watered until runoff today, which took 9 gallons, and the plants have started to come around. Something to keep in mind when growing in large pots.

I water my plants 5 gallons every morning if I skip a morning they're drooping by noon that day. Actually a bit scary poking holes in your soil when you can feel the roots getting hit. I was told it wouldn't harm them and it seemed to have helped the one plant in question.

I was testing to see if I was giving them too much water by trying to wait another day. But halfway through the next day they were sagging and thirsty so I was definitely not giving them too much water. I did poke holes in the soil and water and that seemed to help the few leaves that were looking like they were still sleeping. And yes you do have to water the smart pots more then regular pots due to being in fabric and drying out faster.

Lol. I stuck my bamboo supports in my pots last week to get ready for flower. The root crunching going on sounded awful! Doesn’t phase them.

Thank you all but problem solved. She is sensitive to heat and finally getting low 90s where I'm at and she looks great! So I guess she was heat stressed but she's back on track now pumping out pistols!
