Help me out please! New grower and setup!

lights are lights they all give off the same heat no matter what brand..unless air cooled and in my opinion dont really even cool that much...just get some simple wing hoods for 60$ on amazon and use them...

I dont kno much about the DE to be honest all i kno ita in my next upgrade going with the phantom 1000s de...your cooling system is the backbone of yoyr grow reason i say go big at first cuz it will save u money if u plant on exspanding..say u buy a 2 ton now for 1800$ amd u want to run more lights your gonna have to buy another 2 ton or a 3 ton..so tou will spend more..unless u fo big the first time and u got it..and its not cheap to get em installed

yeah these are all reasons im trying to avoid the massive a/c unit lol. I don't wanna fork out 2 or 3k for an ac unit off the hop, i'd prefer to do that a bit later, maybe after a crop or two

Im presuming you're growing somewhere very warm year round? Cali?

I was hoping to get away with just using cool tubes and maybe a small rolling ac unit cause theyre about $300.

I did read though that cool tubes cant be used with DE lights? messes with the bulb or something?

I've heard from a fairly experienced grower that DE do help quite a bit. He said everyone he knew growing 1lb per light went to 1.5 and if they were doing 1.5lb a light they were ending up with 2lb or more per light. Im not sure if he was bs'ing or not though.

I'm just racking my brain trying to figure out a decent start up system but id like to get good lights off the hop so im not upgrading multiple times.

Im pretty sure i wont be able to run CMH fixtures though as im only in 7.5' height and most manufacturers recommend keeping it quite high above the canopy. I also read the burn really hot?

Might just end up having to buy SE hood's althought i didnt really want to cause they are kind of on their way out.

If i just use 3 or 4 1000w lights in that room with no cool tubes it would probs be smokin hot. But i also cant be spending 3k on an a/c unit till i know im going to be progressing with this at a good pace.

prefer to get a couple grows under my belt first.

Im putting up walls and shit this weekend so purchases aren't too far away, hoping to figure something out soon lol. New seeds on the way

Acually no im in Massachusetts..it gets cold as fuck here...take the equipments u got set it up turn it on and buy what u need as u go...best advice i can give u

Good luck maman keep me posted on progress and any problems as the come up..maybe i can help u and i will keep your budget in mind...and btw i have a 10k$ set up easyyyy i only spent half that...so there are ways around it..just gotta be a hussla lolol

You got your stuff backwards, de lights have to be way higher above canopy and run hot. CMH 315 can be a lot closer than about any other light than led. Your 7.5 ceilings aren't gonna allow for de lights unless you go 600/750 flex units and even then I think your pushing the boundary of not enough height. I'm telling you 315 cmh are perfect for low ceilings and you can def pull more than 2 lbs from a 1000 watts of them. That being said they are pricey so you might just wanna go air cooled old school hps. Either way your gonna have a hell of a time if you try to run DE lights in there, you don't want ac and I don't know hardly anyone running de without an ac they just make too much heat.

Thats why im here asking my man! Im newer to growing and need the input from more experienced people such as yourself Its not that i dont want an a/c unit, i'd love one! I just can't fork out that kinda mula for just the AC alone right now while just starting up. Soon the temps here will be going down here so maybe it will be more affordable come summer next year after i got a couple crops down.

So your recommendation for the room would be the cmh? Can you get them air cooled or would that be where i need the AC unit?

Also thanks for the input on the DE, now i can just rule those out completely and save myself alot of time looking at lights lol.

Should i just roll with the air cooled mh / hps and a few giant hoods?

Also if you know of any deals or information to read or anything that would be greatly appeciated!
