Only thing that scares me is that you have know idea if it's a Massive Pollen Chuck like will plant this 100 here and let Nature do it's thing [ Open Air Pollen Chuck] not i have this male with these traits and a Female with these and i wanna get this to happen and show from both the parents . Then breed that line till i get what i want for said traits to hopefully stabilize not i have a Male from some fire C99 and some killa Insert fast finishing Indica Female here and let them do their thing on a Mountain somewhere i was just intrigued by a Fast finishing PM & mildew resistant strains breed for the North East .
I honestly wish their was more info on them sounded good when i found what i found but i'm to scared it's just a bunch of Bumpkins out their Open Air Chucking in the mountains
Their Seaweed Juice also intrigues me as well my family has used ingredients from the sea for years for farming and they are by far the best for mulch , compost, & teas only problem is the Stuff Stinks to high hell and i just cant handle my yard smelling like low tide and dead seafood "fish, clams, mussels, seaweed, periwinkle, lobster or crab making me wanna throw up just thinking about it
let me know how they turn out they look good just can't see myself buying some unknown genetics is all . Thanks for the info bud !
As much as I would like to believe that Getaway Mountain's breeding is done in a controlled environment, such as within their greenhouse, there is not enough information available about their breeding process to definitively say that no open air pollination is happening. Especially since so much of their growing is done outdoors in guerrilla fashion, it would be easy for them to use open air pollination to produce loads of seeds.
I got their seeds to play around with, and I'm glad I have all these seeds for this purpose, and to give away as gifts. This year I grew a bunch of seeds from Getaway Mountain, got 4 females, kept the best one (Stumbleweed), and gave away the rest as I ran out of room on my deck. I grew 4 Dinafem Quick seeds, kept my best one (Quick Kush) and gave the other plants away. This leaves me with the two plant I have on my deck right now.
As of now, the Dinafem Quick Kush is doing much better than the Getaway Mountain Stumbleweed, has done so all along, and I believe it is much more likely to produce a nice harvest. Especially since the Quick Kush seems to be only a few weeks from finishing, is already super frosty, and has nice big colas. Unless we get a very rainy early September, those colas are a good thing, and the yield from that plant should be very nice. The Stumbleweed looks like it has at least a month to go, and has yet to produce substantial frostiness or large flowers, and has suffered the last month while the Quick Kush in the same conditions, fed the same nutrients, has flourished.
As far as the ones I gave away, it's the same deal, the Dinafem Quick strains are doing fantastic, while the Getaway Mountain strains are doing just okay. I'm now convinced that Quick Versions are the best bet for growing outdoors in our climate. It makes sense too because the faster flowering period inherited from the autoflowering parent, aligns right with our short growing seasons, but the plants do well outside because they are still photoperiod plants.
Next year I want some Fast Versions from Sweet Seeds. I'll grow some Dinafem Quick strains along with them, pick the best one from each of those breeders, and pit one against the other on my deck. I might even make a thread about it.
