I am getting ready to start a new grow of auto flower seeds quick ones and low Ryder to be exact. I just got this new led 600 watt light that has a veg button and a bloom button. So which one should I run the plants under or do I keep both of them on veg and bloom together. Thanks

Use both VEG and BLOOM at the same time. Who manufactures that 600 W light?

I use those very same Viparspectra 600 W lights. I'm on my 4th grow with pretty successful yields. Yes, definitely run both the VEG and BLOOM lights simultaneously from start to finish.

Being a Chinese Blurple manufacturer, they do exaggerate the light output. These lights do not pump out 600 true watts as the label claims. They push out a bit less than half of that - you'll get 270 true watts. But these fixtures can still produce some pretty good results.

How big is your grow area?

You will need like 4 of them to fully light a 5x5. Nothing to say you have to use the whole space though.
One of their 600 W Reflector lights could yield 6 oz. within a 2' x 2' space that is predominately directly under the units. Outside of that 2 x 2 and the bud gets larfy. Usable, but larfy. I have 2 of these 600 W lights in my 2' x 4' and my last 2 grows (SCROG) have yielded me 14.5 oz and 12.6 oz. Not too shabby for blurples.
... I plan on doing around 8 plants ...
In a 5 x 5, you could do a SOG with those 8 plants and use a 4 x 4 area. But for if you want really good yields across that 4 x 4 space, you would need 3 more of those 600 W lights.

Right now I have 4 growing under a 300w led. I hope they will grow up healthy. Here they are now and they look good I have also tried some lst on them hope I’m doing it right also lol hope this is enough light? They are short about 6 inches and bushy. I’m probably doing this all wrong

An average 300 W blurple will draw about 135 wall watts which would be OK for a grow area of about 1.5 or 2 square feet - but not for your entire 5 x 5.

Your Viparspectra = 270 wall watts and assuming your 300 = 135 watts, you have 400 W to work with. Those lights could decently flower a 2' x 5' area within your 5 x 5. Double that to 800 watts if you want to use a 4 x 5 footprint. Go up to 1,000 watts if you want to use the entire 5 x 5 space.

I disagree ... you are asking for advice. Sounds like you are doing this all right.

I have the 4 planted in a 32x32 right now. Sorry I mean 32 inch by 32 inch. I haven’t started with the big 5x5 yet but I do have the seeds germinating right now for it. These lights screw me up with the outputs and stuff. Wish I could get it down pact lol

The 400 watts would be fine for your 32" x 32" tent.

I totally hear you. I wish THEY would get THEIR act down pat. Chinese blurple manufacturers needed to knock it off with their equivalency. If you are building a light that only provides 135 usable watts for plants, call the thing a 135 watt light! Viparspectra are one of the better vendors out there with respect to exaggerated light output claims. But they still do it.

My Reflectors have provided me with some very stinky and very effective bud over the last 2 years. But the times they are a changin'. And so are the LED fixtures available. In about 1 year, I should be in a position to upgrade my lighting and will look at offerings from manufacturers such as HLG, Gavita, OPTIC, Timber ...

Ok so I will send pics later but apparently it looks like I have had a little drooping on one of my plants but maybe it’s just in my head lol but my next important question is that I when I watered a couple of days ago I was using my water mixed with the nutritions and I think I got some directly on a couple of the plant leaves and now they are dying and yellow. Should I remove these leaves or not? Or will they get better it’s only like two leaves on the whole plant the rest is doing fine.

It's more likely the water beading on the leaves that fried them as opposed to nutrients. If it's just 2 leaves, you could remove them.

Ok so here are my baby’s lol. 3 of them are one month old tomorrow and the 4th one is about a week behind the others. I have tried to LST them so hopefully I’m doing that right. I did some very light trimming also. I took some pics of them here they are. In your opinion do they look healthy? Plus they are very short and bushy for being one month old and don’t know why?

Hi,
like you I am also on my first grow and using Viparspectra lights. In my opinion your plants look great. Only 1 month in and you have 5+ nodes so they are probably about to explode even more - don’t worry. By the way... how much fun are you having growing?? That’s the main thing!

I am using 2x300w in a 2x4 with 5 plants. I certainly could have used more light too, but I vegged mine too long and even tying them down they were too tall for my 5” height so they are being light stressed. Not helping. Despite that, mine are on week 5 of flower and seem pretty good from what I can see. I’m just hoping the buds get a little more dense over the next couple weeks.
Good luck and keep it up.
