Provincial police are investigating after they say several suspects armed with handguns robbed a legal marijuana farm, injuring a staff member in the process.
OPP investigators were called to the farm on Concession 14 in Townsend, Ontario just after 2:30 p.m. Sunday after reports of a robbery.
Several suspects managed to get into the farm where they removed a "large quantity" of cannabis before fleeing in a red Ford pickup with a cap on the back, along with a U-Haul Truck, according to an OPP press release.
Sanchuk described the farm as a "legal grow operation through Health Canada."
Police are continuing to investigate and are asking anyone with information to contact the OPP or Crime Stoppers.
"We're investigating an incident right now where somebody in the community knows something," said Sanchuk. "They've seen something. We just need them to have the courage to pick up the phone."
