Newbie LED Questions

Hey guys! So I have a 2’x2’x4’ wood box interior painted white that I’m growing in. Still trying to figure out ventilation but waiting until after I get lights figured out, I have some ideas already.
I currently have one 32w Feit electric 3spectrum grow light I got from Home Depot for like 70 bucks. https://www.feit.com/products/grow-lights/adjustable-3-color-spectrum-dual-2ft-led-grow-light/
I know I need more light, so my question is should I get another one of those (making the total wattage 64) or should I get the Mars Hydro ts1000 (https://www.amazon.com/MARS-HYDRO-Thermometer-Hygrometer-Marshydro/dp/B07PLY1WKK
)and return the light I have? Prices would be the same as getting another Feit light after returning so I’m REALLY leaning towards the MS ts1000
Advice is welcome thanks y’all

You need to figure out your ventilation before you do anything. IMO. You're putting the cart in front of the horse if not.
I’ve got fine ventilation now for it being small and the light I have. If the new light makes it hotter I’ll just add an extra fan or two and figure it out. No big worries there

I looked at that ts1000. Even if your box is ventillated you might still have an issue with the plants being too close to the lights in a 4' box. If you are worried about heat, I went with a COB Led light. It is super quiet and runs cool. Has 3 fans that blow over heat sinks that run the length( 24")of the light. According to my laser temp gauge the hottest part of the light is 92° right next to the leds. Mid 80's elsewhere.

Im just thinking outside the box ....
You might be able to remove the driver on the ts 1000 and run it.... outside the box...
Thus giving you a bit less heat to deal with and a few extra inches of height.

Hey guys I’m interested in this info as well. Deketx is it normal for the panels to be that hot with fans. I have a 300w led and the fans gave out. Can I continue to use it?

I would think so if you have good airflow and vent properly.

Return the light you have and get that TS.
Get the TS.
Whatever you do don’t spend another $70 on a 32watt bulb.
I'm going to agree with Corey and Brettman. That light you have, or the ts1000...the ts1000 for sure. Unless it's too much for a small area. I'm thinking that the plants would run out of space quick with that light?
Either way, you can find something better than the Felt light for that much money. Lots of lights on line that would work much better. Amazon is your friend, lol.

Reason there are fans is because its enclosed and the heat sinking will be minimum so you need the active cooling to stop the chips overheating and burning out.
It may work, it wont work as intended and it may not last long.
You could possibly fix the fan power supply or replace the fans that are not working.

I’ve noticed that it’s the power supply for the fans. All three drivers work for the LEDs but all of the fans are down. It was a gift and just a 300w I think I’ll try a week without the fans and expose the heat sinks and direct a small fans towards it and see how that works. Hopefully no diodes burn.

You can buy a MW driver to run your fans. They're cheap as chips....
~ £6 ~ 7 USD ~ 6.6 euro ~ 9.75 CAD
From memory the MW APV12 12 works for me.....
