That’s a very good question. I initially thought about making a thread asking why someone should lean one way or the other. But then I thought that would definitely turn into a shit show.

There are things I agree with and things I disagree with on both sides. I think what makes things worse is the fact that both sides just want their side to win. Nobody wants to give an inch. And when that happens I feel we, the people, lose.

I see a lot of emotions, name calling, and shit slinging going on in politics(what’s funny is, I’m not talking about this section I’m talking irl) and that makes it difficult.

I believe a woman knows how many kids she want to use her body to birth better than anyone who is not her (so she should have the choice to do whatever she wants to her body), religion needs to keep its hands out of education and government, force my vote. Human rights issues are important to me too, but the first two are the big ones for me.

So that pretty much means I have to vote Democrat. At least until the Republicans move away from the Southern Strategy.

Human cruelty is not a political side issue from my point of view. Mostly I think people try to do the thing they think is right. It is just in America it has only been Wealthy White Males making the decisions. In the 70's-80's the Republicans made the decision that those were the only voters that they would legislate for. It doesn't mean that they are all racists even, just narrow lane. The democrats have been slowly voting in people that reflect the diversity of our country, and with it came a wider understanding of how the world works.

Either side can vote in a ignorant con man that wants to be a cult leader to a devote following that does horrible acts in the name of our country. It is just we now have Trump who went after the low hanging fruit of the evangelical, racist, and conspiracists communities. Evil shit is not a right or left thing.
