The Ghetto-est Grow Ever

First of all, all comments/criticism welcome!

I was curious what one household bulb could do and searched online but couldn’t find anything, so I figured I’d give it a whirl myself!

This grow will be 12-12 from seed (Cannatonic from Resin Seeds)


- 2 gallon pot with miracle grow soil
- 16watt 2700k screw in bulb
- 1x1x2 cardboard box
- probably no nutrients
- untreated tap water

My Prediction: I probably won’t make it to harvest due to this being stupid and me scrapping the “experiment”

Miracle Gro seed starter soil looks like it’s burning it a little bit.

Day 15

It’s growing so slow! Not sure if that’s normal with 12-12 or not. Solo cup is full of roots so I transplanted today into a 2 gallon pot.

I was just going to mention that. If it's the MG with nutrients it may be too hot. The other issue is MG probably has too much Nitrogen for mid to late flower.

I actually just finished a Cannatonic with this same soil and it turned out amazing. But that was with a 6 week veg.

Yeah, I keep an open mind. People grow with all kinds of styles, mediums and nutrients. If you can grow buds, it's a good grow IMO.

Oh your right about the nitrogen though, I had N-tox all through veg, but funny enough it actually seemed like it ran out of nitrogen throughout flower.

Day 20

It is looking terrible, and is barely growing. Temp is about 75 and humidity is around 60. I’m thinking the light might actually be too close @ 2”.

It has new growth starting at the cotyeldons, is that normal for 12-12?

Day 25

Still growing very slow, new growth looks healthy-ish. I did some research on 12-12FS and learned that good strong light is very important so basically this was doomed from the beginning. If I’d known that before hand I would have done a 18-6 schedule with a 5000k bulb for 3-4 weeks.

Starting to look like I have a problem, maybe a Mag deficiency?

In my early grows I pulled 7oz out of a cardboard box from a laundry machine. 400 watts, 4 inch inline fan and filter, I was running skunk #1 from sensi seeds.

Been 8 days since I last watered and it’s still quite wet, leaves are still burning up, I’ve got fungus gnats now... just an all around shitshow in that cardboard box lol.

It’s about 8 inches tall. At least it’s alive I guess, just 15watts of light, no fan no exhaust no nothing lol

So I bought some sticky traps, I got all my plants COVERED in them so hopefully they work! This plant is looking awful. I think there is multiple problems... obviously lol

Well I decided to toss this disgusting gnat-infested, train wreck of a fuck up. I now realize why nobody has tried to grow a plant like this... Jefferson sent me some of his InzaneSkittlez almost two months ago so I’m going to try one of them now.

I will be growing the Jefferson in a 2.5gallon pot with MG Organic soil. Im going to flower it in my 2x4 cabinet with about 440watts of mixed LED lights. Aprox 55watt per foot. My veg cab has one giant CFL @6400k with 18-6 schedule.

Checked the Jefferson this morning after 36 hours and it’s already cracked!
