Shear cleaning tips?

Use 2-3 pairs of trimmers, keep a couple shots of 151 rum handy. Everclear would work too. ... when one pair gets gunked up, let it soak in the rum and switch to a new pair. After the second one gets gunked up, the first one that has been soaking should easily swish clean.

Then drink the 151 when you’re done trimming for the day/night?

Personally, I don’t drink. So I have like 15 pairs of trimmers, and when they all get gunked up, I sit there and scrape up a couple grams of scissor hash off of them, then soak in ISO

I have soap for my hands. Humboldt Hands goats milk soap, made with lye and crushed walnut shells. Works pretty well on gunked up hands.

Nice — I should have most of this stuff on hand, or at least I will after stopping by the liquor store!
ISO works great. I also soak my plant yoyo's in it to clean the sticky resin off them. I look for it to go on sale. Safeway had a sale for $1 a bottle for 99% ISO a bit ago and I stocked up. The 91% is fine too though.
I took a pic of my yoyo's soaking, but had to get my Walleye in there too since it's right there.

Use the lighter to heat the blade and a napkin to wipe off. Very fast only takes a few seconds.

Iso cups work great as well but if you ever knock it over an ISO soaks your bud you'll be sad.
I have a bottle of ISO with a squirt top lid. I take some paper towels and then put the scissors on it and squirt some ISO on them. Then wrap the ISO'd paper towels around the scissors and rub a little. I make sure to get some on the hinge good too. I also soak them sometimes, but only after I've fully harvested everything and my Yoyo's are done soaking.

The vegetable oil method has actually been working real well — resin basically comes right off. That’s a good point about scraping it off and smoking it but to be honest I’m too lazy and got enough weed as it is. I have been soaking shears in alcohol after the oil.

I have 3 pairs for every person.

The dirty one’s goes in a container with ethanol (iso gives fumes) and the clean ones go on a towel to dry.

The dry ones are used.

Least time lost. And always clean

Few pairs of trimmers are needed always

Soaking in Alcohol as others said works great.

sometimes I use a torch for soldering and just burn it all off and wipe with wet rag. Good as new
