Longer Days For Flowering?

Lol they're just some wee veging lights I've got for my clones and seedlings too veg under before they go under the 150w veging bulb in the cubboard below where my cloner and mother plants live before they go into my 4x4x6 flowering tent or my 2x2x4 breeding tent (not that it's used often) I've used 24w cool day light cfls for near a decade now never had a issue, my breeding tent has a 150w flowering cfl which is sufficient enough for what I require, my flowering tent runs 2x600w digital ballests 2-3 300w full spectrum led's, I get between 2-2 1/4 pound out of it every 12 weeks with 3-4weeks of 18/6 vegging and 7-8weeks of flowering. Feel free too have a look at my content tho always up for tips altho I never seem to get any theses days
Gotcha, so your revegging those. Fair enough.

I thought you were trying to flower those lol

Not really that one that was flowering was never ment to flower in the first place it started all on its own once it reached maturity
That's what my flowering tent usually looks like

I hate to get off topic here but man what did you spray those with? Especially in flower. I hope you intend to make seed and not smoke those flowers.
Sorry didn't awnser your question the two yellow spray bottles the one on the far left has a light mix of neem oil and mavik gun, that insect gun is really hard on soft growths but kills all the bugs really well hence why they look like horse shitte

Well its unfortunate they went into flower before you wanted them to. That's why my veg is ALWAYS on 24/7 among other reasons. Seems like the DLI for that admittedly rare strain wasnt met under 18/6. Generally 18/6 holds em but under weak enough light it's still isent getting enough photons per 24 for it's rare type apparantly.

Nice grow bud seems you have a style that is working great for you an who really cares about a oddball mishap anyways, nature is mishap by nature after all!
All that matters in the long term is the steady flow it seems your got down pat so kudos brotha

Cheers bro yeah had me stumped, my cubboard down below is 24hr never had a problem with that but I'm excited to now know that it's something rare amongst the cannibis families it's currently in reveg now under the 150w cfl I use get me some more cutting too experiment on, I started years ago with a 70w hps and worked my way through 110w hps, 250w, 400w,single 600w magnetic then to a digital 600w then 2 digitals and 2-3 300w led's as sided lighting, I find it awsome that some one had taken the time too talk most don't unless they have something negative too say, cheers for your thoughts and time bro

Theres a lot of factors in this game and sometimes if we change for 24 to 18 or something with reduced light it throws em into flower.
I try to be constructive even when I criticize, I dont generally jump on to talk shit for the sake of shit talking, I always want people to do their best because I've learned a lot here an I just want everyone to be their best ya know?

If your ever in the market for a new veg light I'm really happy with my 315 cmh in 4000k, its dimmable to like 150 watts and it replaced this 1kw hps I had in my veg area. I know hps kinda sucks for veg but it's what I had. Wife broke my last mh bulb and didnt wanna buy a new one.

Yeah I looked into them but they're a pain too get in nz, I use cultiv8 ballest and bulbs there doesn't seem too be much information on them I've used them for the last two years but they out perform phillps bulbs and luca's for both veg and flower in (my setup) , I seem too get better penetration of canopy and better spread of the light running 2 600w digital ballest, I've tried to find where theyre manufactured but can't seem too pin point any where other than aussie wouldn't suprize me if it was a rebranding of solid-tek or some Chinese knock off but as for the gear I can't seem too fault it, even in the 3-4 weeks of veg I do with them the plants don't stretch like youd expect with high end spectrum red-orange-yellow slight green and blue bulbs they seem too be very well balanced and well designed bulbs, I ran Phillips for years but once I switched too cultiv8 I havnt gone back, no I appreciate your knowledge and experience and find our convos stimulating without sounding like a stuck up ponsy fella or like I'm buttering your biscuit lmfao, I had a good mate some years ago go too the 315w setups he swore black and blue they were the bees knees

Hi, guys. Thanks for the reply.

I get that photoperiod plants need longer uninterrupted nights to flower, I'm just wondering if the natural photoperiod for a plant HAS to be what the sun gives it. Like, if the world slowed its spinning down by half, (doubling day/night times) would the plants still 'get' when to flower? And would they flower with different characteristics than they would with the original 'fast' day/night?

If 14 hours of light is the threshold point from veg to flower, would it not still flower with 14 hrs light, 20 hrs dark, for instance?
14, 20, 14, 20, 14, 20?

I'm just not getting that 24/24 would confuse a plant if 12/12 doesn't.

I guess my question really, is "Do plants know the time? ....or do they act according to what the light/dark periods suggest? We all know the answer for that one in this context, but 'telling the time' within it, does that happen?

Like it's been dark for a lot longer than it has been light, but my threshold is 14 actual hours, so I'll ignore the light cycle?

Apologies if this doesn't come across the way it does in my head, but it is the best that I can ask my question. Thanks, guys.
Cannabis doesn't care how many hours of light it gets in terms of flowering vs veg. What Cannabis cares about is the number of uninterrupted hours of darkness. Like a previous poster said, you could do 18/12 or something like that but scheduling that times would be tricky at best. 18/18 or 24/24 would do nothing for you, as there would be no increased photons.
