Any downside to vegging at 100% power?

I've read when commercial growers run veg @ 50% power of what they flower at.

Is there a downside to vegging @ 100% power if the plants can take it?

Have just been vegging under the cmh till now...duh..

Thanks again for the advice guys!

I like big plants, I always err on the side of too much light if I have the option.
That's why I put the light together. Looking forward to some long veg, much training 1 plant monsters in the future!
Made it to cover a 36"X36" scrog. :)

Was just worried to give it a try with what I read. Still new to all this.

best way to tell if you are going at it too hard is visual, you will see the leaves praying very hard hours before lights off to escape the light.
Other ways include measure leaf temps with IR thermometer... they should be cooler than ambient.
