So your vent hood is why there not burning,Im looking for one so I can recycle the heat into my house and let plants get closer.How do you vent yours?

i vent mine right outside the entire room into the hosue. I use that same method of recycling the heat in the winter time. i will take some pics. i don't have an ideal ventilation setup, but it works good and might help with some of your questions. and yes, if i didnt have a vent hood, those plants would be fried. regardless of hood or no hood, i will never let my plants get that close to the light again.

what size fan,hose?Do you scrub the air?Smell for me is a big concern.thx

i put some pics up in the above post. the fan is larger than it needs to be and that's on purpose. i have an 8 in inline fan that pulls 745 cfm. i have it on a speed controller and and have it at about half speed. that way, it is extremely quit. i have a "phresh" carbon filter rated at 400 cfm...6 in X 16". all of my ducting is 6 inches except for my intake ducting, which is just passive intake air. the pics might explain better than me. there is absolutely no smell whatsoever. The brand of carbon filter is pretty important.

is this a closed loop?What im thinking is a separate system,suck air from house by the buld and back out.was hoping not to scrub it.so i would need about a 400 cfm fan u think?

tbh, i don't even know what closed loop mean ha. but my system goes like this. carbon filter>ducting>light fixture>ducting>fan>more ducting that eventually leads out of the room. And I would think you would need a fan around 400 cfm. Thats about all i use with my 745 cfm fan. You dont want your fan to be pulling more air than what your filter can handle. for example, you dont want to be pulling 500 cfm through a 400 cfm filter or else it wont work right. i think i just understood what you mean by closed loop, and i dont think mine is that.

ok i see,right now i vent outside my house scrubbed with a muffler.Was wondering how good of a seal the vent hoods have.

Funny one day i took off the carbon filter for maintenance only took about an hour to stink up my back yard.

my hood (that ive had for over 5 years now) has a perfect seal. would highly recommend a hood that can seal shut if you are running HID lights.

this is day 30 i think. i tried to get some pics before my light turned fully orange lol,...didnt quit make it. but heres a pic of the two plants. The plant in front (adam's OG) is doing awesome...really producing some nice buds. The second plant got heat burned pretty bad. I just assume genetics is what makes the difference. And I wanted to show a pic of my clone that i super cropped twice. i think super cropping is now my favorite form of training for an even canaopy. im still working on getting the purpling out of these clones. foliar feeding them with calmag is my solution. i forgot to buffer the coco with calmag when i transplanted them

Both.. had a couple super crop on their own. Pulled ever body back into the playground.

nice, i just did that to a few of mine that were leaning farther from the light. anyhow, heres an update. i would have gotten a better yield if i had just focused on one plant under that 600 watt hps. got greedy though. day 36 i think

Wow, in that first pic, those (2) gals really stretched for the sky. I hope they don't get to toasty in 3 or 4 weeks from being so close to the light...

yea, the stretch got out of hand for sure. im now training the Adam's OG clones really hard with super cropping and topping while these are finishing up. i have my fingers crossed. The white skunk in towards the back did get pretty burnt, but the adams OG is taking the light like a champ so far. thats the strain im going to be running for sure
