How to fix clawing in organic grow

I’m only using ffof and didn’t add any nutes besides fishbone meal but the clawing was here before I added the nutes. I flushed two days ago and still no fix

Hey. Also busy struggling with clawing leaves. Still seedlings. Complete pain. I found I'm struggling with my soil pH, probe reads 7 sometimes 8. Hoping once I transplant them into bigger pots the pH will level out a bit lower.

PS. Does anyone have any idea if treating with Diatomaceous Earth would push up your soil pH? Because I did that and started running into pH problems.

Found the culprit. High amounts of worm castings and some bat guano in the premixed soil. Too much nitrogen ontop of my fucked pH. Awesome guys, thanks for the advice! ✌

I’m running ffof now! The first 5 weeks I only watered, no amendments at all. It is pretty hot soil so maybe the extra liiiittle bit of nitrogen is too much? Also there’s already fish meal in ffof so why did you add it?

perhaps you arent watering enough.. what type of pots are u using and how often are u watering

FF OF, isn't all that bad once the children grow a little, so if its just a overabundance of N problem it will work its self out. But clawing can be caused by a lot of things, like the pot is being constantly over saturated releasing to much N for a young plant. Also FF OF has a good baseline pH range, so it will correct some watering pH issues but if you constantly water with a way out of the 6.2 to 6.6 pH range the soil, (FF OF), won't be able to correct the problem because what is in your water can permanently raise or lower the soils pH, (FF, OF). So, I would check your meter and calibrate it against a known solution, so you can be sure that your watering and feeding pH stays in the right range.

That’s why I thought maybe the addition was too much. I agree on the watering though. I’ve never had a problem in my ffof at all, it’s An amazing soil I’m gonna keep using. I’ve just heard of it being too hot (maybe because of other factors) for some growers/strains.

My water is phd 6.1-6.5 never fluctuates under and rarely above that. I added fishbonemeal cause I thought it needed a little extra phosphorous for flower idk first grow man lol

That’s def not the problem then lol :) I’m on my first grow too I had what looked like calmag deficiency at about your stage. I was told I was being like a overbearing mother and it was just growing pains, so I just kept watering and it worked itself out.

That soil is great man, I think just keep watering and you’ll be fine. I just use tap water I let sit out for 24 hours to evaporate off the chlorine (I don’t think there’s any in my water but just in case) and it’s fine.
No need for PHing or anything, that soil has a good buffer in it.
