grow light help and question

i want to build a small grow light that will fit in a cupboard 2.5x1.3ft ish space around 200 or 250wats

i an looking for a even spread more then just one directs spot . i was thinking led strips maybe 4 or 5 of them on some sort of frame or heat sink

am i better off buying a pre build or making something

Cheaper to build it for sure. Depends on your comfort level with diy and if you wanna mess with sourcing parts. Buying a prebuilt is obv easier but you pay for that convenience

I think a few f series or the new bxeb gen 3s strips on a 185 or 240w driver would rock that space.

Then it will be very cheap to build, you can even just use L or U aluminium profile for the heatsink as long as your driving them soft.

look up the part numbers and paste them into google and hopefully digikey or arrow still has them in stock for dirt cheap.
I think they are around $3 or £2 a piece.

A hlg120 driver would be plenty of power for your space.

Bigger buds using a warmer spectrum. The only thing that I can think to use the 3500k was to keep em a liitle shorter for a small space. The more blues, the tighter the nodes. But I would train em short. Mainlining, scrog, lst, and opt for the 2700k and get the bigger buds.

i dont know much but from what i read isnt 3500k full spectrum. is 2700k more for flower or something.

Thats right. 3500k is more full spectrum. You said you were gonna use it for just bloom phase or flowering. I was just going off of that. If u are going to veg and flower in that cab, then I would get the 3500k.

Check out the Mars Hydro SP 150. 3.88K and perfect dimensions for that space. I have many different lights and out of all of them my SP 250 is top 3.

Good spread and as close as 12in away. I do 16 for better spread. I just love the spectrum and so do my plants. Side by side with an HLG 240 quantum board setup, the SP side just looks so much healthier. Less calmag def on the SP side. Looking at the plants in that color spectrum is so much more pleasing to the eyes also. 3000k was just looking so dull. I plan on buying a few more for my new flower room.

Mmmmm... Interesting. Thats a good distance for that. I gotta use the hlgs at 15+ inches. I grow in tight spaces so gotta be able to get close. Thanks!
