Dented Carbon Filter?

Dented Carbon Filter

So I recently ordered a 6x24 Phresh Filter from amazon, and I knew from the reviews beforehand that they had issues in shipping with dented/damaged filters shipping out. I got mine today and sure enough it does have a dent. Now the dent isn’t anything crazy and I don’t think it will actually have any impact on the filter. I will probably have amazon send me a replacement anyways, what I am wondering though, if the replacement they send me is damaged worse, would you be comfortable running a carbon filter with a dent like this? I want to return it on principle just because I am of the school of thinking that If I am paying for something brand new, it doesnt matter how effective it is, It should be brand new, but the next closest in price was like $40 more after all the shipping and everything, and I really don’t want to return this over and over again, so If I don’t have better luck with the second one, i will probably just run this one.

I would think that as long as it isn't leaking any of the AC either inside or outside of the housing and you can secure the ducting, it should be fine.

Man I love Phresh and Phat filters, they make the best. When I pay for premium product, I expect premium product. That aside, would it still work, probably. They will probably make you return the first filter to get the second one shipped, so hopefully the second one isn't worse.

They probably keep reshipping the dented ones hoping someone will take them.

I ordered from amazon, they ship out the replacement before you return the item when it’s shipped by amazon. In fact, it’s already been marked as “shipped” and I only got home about 4 hours ago lol. But I think I got lucky in terms of damage so unless the second is in perfect condition, I’ll just keep this one, its really not bad at all. It’s more in the lip around the very bottom but it doesn’t open up the filter at all.
