Ready for chop?...was surprised by the amber trichomes

Two plants here have been flowering for 2 months. I was surprised to see all the amber trichomes in one of the plants. I harvested the sample from the very top were there was some purpling from my led's. Should I have picked a lower location?

I was surprised because I was using a loupe for a few weeks and never saw any amber. A USB microscope is apparently the only way I can see the amber.

Chop the 1st plant?

I just don't think anyone wanted to break the news you still have a while to go I think. You still have a lot of new pistil growth going on.

I'll tell you what you know anyway. Looking pretty done. Harvest the one with all the Amber for sure. Could give the other a couple more days, or not, if it's your first time growing the strain maybe havest at least some of it now to see if you notice a difference with the extra Amber and which you prefer for next time.

I do not other than those trichomes might have been older and decaying for any reason before the new growth pushes out more as it starts puffing out a bit. But I really do not have a clue and have no reason to believe my answer is correct on this.

I'd go by trichromes from buds not right under the light but not hiding off to the side not getting full light, something representative. Some strains just keep putting out new white pistols and growing, but after 2 months your in the land of diminishing returns so I'd go by the trichomes not the white hairs and call it done rather than letting it turn into a 3 month flower.

I'll get a picture of a bud that is a little bit lower when the lights turn on. The strain is Glueberry OG and it does appear to continually shoot out new pistols. Wasn't sure if it looked "chunky" enough to be harvested. Most of the new growth seems to be below the top buds on both the plants.

I'm guessing there is about 5% amber trichomes. Hard to see. I guess I'll get my scissors ready. Thanks for the help!

A few leaves appear to be rapidly turning purple. I'm guessing this is normal. Maybe due to the blueberry genetics?

Hey sorry I didn't respond sooner. They look to me like they need more time, maybe around 12-14 days. Seems like they are in the swelling stage. The stigma are turning color and receeding, and the bracts should be swelling internally. You probably aren't seeing lots of outward growth, but the plant is still working hard making the buds denser, and ripening. I've seen strong branches bend over in a matter of a couple days during the final stages from the added weight.

I would guess these first trichomes to be so amber were either very early ones, or were damaged at some point causing oxidation.

At this point I wouldn't stress about the leaves just keep an eye out for any mold or major issues and ride the last couple weeks out.

Jokes aside i dont use a loupe and when its done the buds look done. If you dont know what done looks like yet you should not be using a loupe

Nope don’t worry about the leaves. They don’t look bad for one thing and some yellowing and leaf fade at this stage won’t hurt anything.

Its been 14 days since the plants were pictured. The 1st plant is ready? Maybe wait longer on the 2nd?
