When does everyone top their autos if they do?

Won’t top this one I think. It already got off to a rough start and is behind already. First time in coco and was advised on here to give to dry periods early on which I think allowed my pH & EC to fluctuate too high. Got it fixed though. Maybe I’ll consider topping my next ones.

I'm doing the same didn't top just tucking and pinning down about 2 weeks old now not much side shoots I take a pic when sun comes up oh yeah blue cheese auto and bulk smash auto

What ever u feel comfortable with mate but i would agree let her be until ur next run! iv never used coco but i know its not very forgiving, I prefer soil, just MY preference, its far more forgiving for learning,
How many plants do u have there? Keep on top of ur ph and she will b fine

Tupur is the way to go if you want to use coco... Royal Gold tupur... Royal Gold makes a few different kinds of it... It is super easy to work with!!!

I hear ye mate, Everyday is a learning day! Think about the auto logically, i top autos but top them early on, with a photo plant its your call when there ready to b flipped, auto decides that on its own we cant control that part, if you top an auto a tad too late and it goes into flower after or soon after the freshly developed ends are not going to stack the bud the same was as a fully developed main branch ! U get me?

Op, im not sure who said to give coco dry oeriods( was not me and i know we talked about my coco grows before you started yours), but if coco dries out it builds up salts that flux the ph and can lockout the plants or stall them. You also can't flush after a few feeds like soil for this reason. Coco you feed regularly so it just comes out of the bottom of pot to know it got in the whole pot. I believe you got the Royal Gold Tupar like me and it can be watered up to 6x a day, not by my methods but by the people that develpoed it. Coco is almost impossible to dry out unless you just don't water it enough. First 2 weeks should've only needed water every 4-6 days but after that its atleast 1 tume a day and i like 2. Also nutes need to go every watering. Not feed feed flush like soils. Hopefully you'll get it back on track by treating it like the coco it is. I aslo for the topic would not top this plant. Seems behind and it would only keep it behind more.

Yea I will likely go back to soil. Less involved as I’m hand watering.

Yea I won’t blast the person. Sometimes people on here mean well but end up doing more harm than good. No big deal, it made me research and learn a lot more which helped me get it back on track. Once I started watering daily and monitoring the EC of what was going in so that I could slowly raise the amounts put in it’s taken off. That’s exactly what happened.. pH likely got high from sitting and maybe a bit of calcium deficiency. Upped the pH to 6.1-6.2 and did a few foliar sprays with calmag water. Looking healthy now and I’m watering twice a day at around 800-900 EC and pH around 5.8.

Mistakes mean you gotta learn.

When it comes to autos transplanting time is critical as well as the transplant itself.

If left too long the roots at the bottom stop growing and side roots come out. This stunts vertical growing.

You need to time it that just as the roots start to bottom out your container it’s time to transplant - the optimal window is only a few days.

Also another question.. this is my first time with autos as well as using smart pots. I’ve noticed roots growing through the fabric sides of the pot and out of the bottom. Is this normal? There’s about 7-8 roots poking out.

Happens at times with fabric pots mate theyll be fine, theyll probably shrivel up with the heat/light but its not to worry, root ball must be healthy enough
