How long do you have to hold 12/12 after forcing flower?

***edit*** the plant in question is an Autoflower Jack Herer***

My Jack Herer is getting a wee bit tall so I put them in 12/12 as of today.

Can I eventually switch back to 18/6? And if so, when?

What are you hoping to accomplish? Once you induce flower, you're gonna wanna keep it there. Can go to like 13/11 or so if you want, but nothing to gain there. If youre looking to keep them short by flipping, you are screwing the pooch. The stretch from 12/12 will make them taller than if u just kept them vegging under 18/6.

Sorry didn't specify in op..
The plants are autoflowers.
Yes they are getting tall so I want them to flower now instead of vegging longer and getting taller before the stretch.

I'm wondering since it's an auto, can I return them to an 18/6 cycle once flowering is induced?

Oh, ok. Autos don't work like that. They do not respond to the light change. They will flower when the time comes. Less light at 12 hrs may slow them down some, but not really. Sounds like u have to ride it out. Some lst, maybe?

Ahh, okay.
Read a few different places where peeps said they had success forcing with a 12/12.

Ahh well.
They'll get a good nights sleep tonight, go back on 18/6 tomorrow and under the Scrog Saturday then.

Thanks :)

Shorten the distance between the light and the plants... it's probably too late now but that's what you do... especially when dealing with autoflowers... 12/12 is not going to make them do anything but go slower...

Done.
The Jacks have a few friends with them.
Fugly for now, but given a few days should grow into it...

theres too much hysteria regarding whether to put autos on 1212 ... the entire point is they will grow just fine with ANY light cycle. if you plant them in august outdoors they will get a 1212 cycle naturally. they wont whither and die or yield badly.
do you think an auto flower Northern lights for instance will yield massivley more than its photo period counterpart just because it recieved lots more light? it doesnt.
my own first hand experience of growing an afghan kush auto on 1212 was that it yeilded the same as any photo id grown before
