Pot size

I saw somewhere online that you can grow indoors In a 1 gallon pot. I’m not looking for monster plants so saying I won’t get 6 foot behemoths doesn’t bother me. Will I be able to complete a grow in a small pot is all I need to know

People compete with each other to see who can grow the biggest best yield seed to harvest in a Solo cup, so yeah, can be done.

Is it the easiest or will it give you the most return on your efforts. I don't think so.

Lmao in a solo cup? That’s what I got them in now lol. I just put 3 into gallon size pots and I don’t got a whole lot of room. If I have to transfer them again I will but if I can keep them in gallon pots it would be better

Yes.
I get approx 2 1/2 ozzies from a 1 gallon (200mm) pot
Ive found in the way i grow and in my system with the number of plants I run that 1.8 gallon pots (250mm) work the best.
Smaller the pot the more attention it will need.

We have had some really good solo cup grows just search the forum. 1 gal makes for alot of watering/feeding. A drip system set on 4 feedings a day will do it though. $25

Just remember they will about double in size, depending on strain, so don't wait long to flip to 12 / 12. Top / Fim them early and you will get a little more yield.

The answer to your question is yes.

This was grown in a one gallon pot.

This is in a 1.5 liter pot. Around six feet tall when this picture was taken. Pure sativa. They can get tall.

Wow these look like best case scenario so my hopes are as high as I am lol thanks for the good info

That's just sad.
Put your plants in 5 gal smart pots and they'll be much healthier.
Why do that to a plant?
It is cruel and you should lose your parental rights.

Does it save you $.07 in medium?

Oh not another one.

Does it save me $.07 in medium? It might save more than that. If it does then great. I grew the plant in a one gallon pot on purpose. I vegged a couple weeks and threw it in the flower tent. What's sad about that? Many people grow SOG and use small pots and minimal veg time. Typically one plant per square foot. It's a technique that's been used for years with great success. I wasn't planning on growing a tree.

The other Sativa in the 1.5 liter plant grew outside all summer. I chose to shut down the flower tent for a couple months rather than deal with the summer heat. The plant got big. So what? And I watered it with a garden hose all summer and only fed it a few times with the CHEAP dry salts I use for nutrients and not overpriced cannabis specific nutes. I'm sure I saved well more than $.07 and I'm happy about that. I enjoyed seeing how big I could get it in such a small pot. Most people ask me how the hell I got it so big in that small of a pot. You on the other hand are sad. To each their own I guess.

I don't see anything sad about anything I've done. I do this as a hobby. I have another job for income that pays very well. I'm not a big time commercial grower like you claim to be. I grow different strains every grow. I haven't been growing the same strain like you for years. I have several breeding projects going right now and I make crosses every grow. I do this for fun because I like growing plants. I give most of what I grow away to friends for free. I'm not in this for the money but I'm also not in this to spend a bunch of money. If I can save money I'll save it anywhere I can. But I didn't grow those plants in those small pots to save money. I did because I could. There is nothing cruel about it. If you want to see cruel then take a look at what I did to that sativa so I could fit it in the tent. For the record it's Oldtimers Haze and it's 100% sativa. It's probably going to take 20 weeks to finish but it will be worth it. I enjoy growing strains others don't. I'm not really fond of hybrids like GG4. I prefer growing landraces and making my own hybrids from those. But that's just me.

As for that Oldtimers Haze, if you thought I should lose my parental rights you probably think I should be put in prison for this abuse:

I use 3 gallon. Larger pots are more forgiving. At 6 weeks from flip I am watering every day. Promix with nothing added. Just nutrients. I may switch back to 5 gallon.

LoL. No. Just a simple flogging should be enough ...

Seriously tho. You're right - it depends on perspective. I grow commercially, as I claimed, so the goal is different. I seek weight and THC content and a harvest every six weeks. And, yes, it is important in that type of operation to become expert in one or two genetics ... and dial it in. I am in process of 'learning' two new genetics now because the needs of the buyers (market forces) are changing away from GG4.
I am learning Doe Si Doe, and Chocolate Kush right now. Did two rows of each in the room I just turned and will test. I can see already that the Doe Si Doe can be easily over fed, and it looks like the CK needs more Magnesium that the GG4.
The first run I do with either of those two will not yield to fullest potential ... and it's because of me. I have to learn what they like and I won't know that for a couple of grows.

But, I get what you did to that Haze. Anyone who does a true SCROG is doing some pretty extreme training. I supercrop all the branches I can reach.
That's different than putting a five foot plant in a teaspoon of medium.

But, hey, they your babies.
Have they ever tried to run away?
Make a break for it?

I noticed growing in smaller pots plants stretch out and start to show deficiencies some strains more then others.

Plant doesnt need a large root structure to grow well. It just needs to have access to everything it needs, so yes a smaller pot means they are harder to look after and they can easily topple over to, (:. But thats 1/2 the challenge I suspect.

Sorry, but, I gotta disagree, in a way ....

The plant does 'only' need access to everything it needs, but how does that happen? Mostly thru roots. How much roots is too much?

How large of a pot is too large? To me the smallest pot to use for an eight week grow plant is 5 gallons, and only if there's external support like a net. And that is a 'small' container.

u havent seen the little net pots they use in DWC recirculatory systems?
