I was wondering if anyone has had their cannabis tested, now that it's all legal and stuff?...if so, what were the results and were you surprised?

I could have sworn HC made mention in passing about providing testing for patients. Maybe it's wishful thinking on my part.
You can get your testing done by HC.
There is a local lab in the Kootenays just for testing THC and CBD. It doesn't cost $1700 like the bigger labs. I got three samples tested for $300.

I grabbed a kit from keystone labs at the lift expo fir $100. You prep the sample at home then mail it in and they test if fir cannabinoids and Turpines. Plan on trying it out any day now

There’s a couple products on the market...
MyDx is not that good IMO. About 1000cdn
Purpscience(Spelling?) is new n claims to be a lot better . About 2000cdn ....
To me the price is reflecting the R&D , trying to recover some $$$ , for what it is , I don’t see it worth the asking price , I’ll wait for it to drop before testing.

I was all on board with purchasing a MyDx when they first launched. Then I found out it doesn't measure your sample but compares it to samples taken from the same strain. So you wouldn't be getting an exact measurement for your particular sample of GSC let's say. Instead you get a reading of what it should test at based on what real tests have gathered. I'll have to research the second one you mentioned.

I'd be interested in tracking down testing for a reasonable price..$50-75 as Im trying to test for obscure cannabinoids and terpenes.(.other than the preliminary test of just having a puff)

low cost cannabis testing facilities would absolutely demolish the commercial market and promote the underground market. Imagine being able to go get something you bought tested for 20$ or whatever! That would change everything

That is what put me off as well.
I wanted real numbers, not a best guess. I no longer care since it is about efficacy and not some arbitrary number. Beside those machines cannot measure the "entourage effect".

Hey BHB
Interesting kit...Unfortunately, it mentions accuracy at +/- 2% accuracy.

.for the cannabinoids I looking at..thcv..that 2% margin of error is more than likely even higher than the total percentage of the total THCV I would expect in total.
:(

But thanks none the less :)

When getting plants tested, I wouldn't worry too much about a +/- 2% accuracy.
If you have 4 plants you're going to get 4 completely different readings.
If you test 4 parts of 1 plant you're also going to see a +/- 2% change.

Best bet is to get some real colas tested so you can brag about your numbers, but don't expect it to represent the whole crop, the next crop or even the buds on a lower branch.

GFC..
Agreed there is often significant variation among a generation of plants for all cannabinoids.. Unfortunately, for someone like myself, looking for thcv...a cannabinoid that may only have 1-3% thcv to begin with,( if Im extremely lucky..) a 2% variation in overall cannabinoid profile can be significant
