I have grown HPA, but sans pressure tank, to very good effect, but where I live the temps are too hot 7+ months a year to keep the room at a reasonable temperature and therefor the root chamber, so I switched to top feed with Hydro Halo Drip rings, only the clogged from algae buildup inside. I drilled the holes, but same problem, so I switched to F & D. About a year ago I got an idea to combine a high GPH pump with HPA mist heads, which worked pretty well. Not exactly HPA roots, but... You might notice the beginning stages of root rot, caused by overwetting the starter cubes. Not an issue when using clones. See pics

Its been decided....

first up, LP Aero. 4 Sites and a 40g res. Worst case scenario, it dont work for me and i convert it to something else lol
Ill be back when i start building it maybe later today or tomorrow.

Their are commerically viable foggers, but very expensive

I loved my aero system for smaller plants years back, only ran into issues if the emitters clogged or the roots blocked the drainage. Currently I'm eyeing a 4 site rwdc system with controller tank outside a tent, would be nice to have it easier to monitor.

Just got power back after 20 hours out. I am totally over aeroponics or anything else that requires pumps until im better situated to deal with outages.


Im going back to growing shit in pots for now, its just simpler lol

yeah there's the downside. I've got a backup battery on my pumps but nothing would keep the lights running during an extended outage

Ya i have generator that runs my pellet stove,deep freeze and lights in my house, im gonna need to get another for my room before i start growing aero for sure. With systems like that i would think an automatic backup supply would be a must.

All you need is a UPS. I got mine for $80 at best buy. Not sure how long it'll last but it kept my pump going for 4 hours before. You can also put your pump on longer cycle just to save power longer, the plants will live.

Still can't find anything to run sterile. No pool shock or h2o2 anywhere. Even getting it shipped to me online is near impossible.

Similar to mine, not exact though. But you get the idea, theres tons of them on Amazon, some smaller, some with bigger batteries to fit your needs.

Ya no doubt, I wasnt even considering outages or what i would do lol, then it happened

Running these( RDWC/AERO) systems it seems prarmount to have some sort of backup to keep the pumps running. Lights arent even such a huge concern, but the pumps cant stop for 20 hours lol


New plan is to veg these 4 babies , pick the best pheno, take clones and then begin the aero journey. By then i should also have a UPS( thanks @Axion42 and another generator just for the room.
