DIY with Quantum Boards

THose 120/132 boards are great value for the money. Its true you would need more of them as seen on other builds. They are really good for cupboard grows or close quarters. I also think a very good light for veg( 4000k ). I believe i saw someone with like 12 of these in a 4x4. I have 4 qb120 in which I am hoping to use in a 2x4 or 3x3 for mostly veg. HLG should design a mini version of the 550 with 4 of these. True it would be lower wattage, but perhaps more similar (watts/price ) to what the cheaper competition now offers.

nice.. it seems 300 + watts on paper is where you want to be in a 3x3 for flower. I understand these boards can run 75 watts. Probably more. How hard to you push with that driver? Do the boards ever get hot? If I were to use the 240 c2100 I estimate around 260 watts would be 28.89 watts per sq ft ( 9 sq ft ) 35 watts per sq ft would be a better target from what I understand. Now I am understanding watts can be subjective which throws the numbers off..

I have been looking at some of those new Mars hydro/Spyder etc and their claims are hitting new heights. 1000 watts HID replacements are only consuming 100-150 led watts. I had someone on insta ask why I am not just using the new mars hydro TS1000 for the price...

I mounted my 132’s on a 600x600 aluminium manhole frame, works great In my 3x3 with a hlg-320h-2100

Wish I could have got my hands on some 304s before they stopped making them... Apparently they are one of the few lights that would work with these. 1050A's... Oh well, you live and you learn... The saga continues...

This is only my 2nd grow with the 132’s but am very happy with them. I have run them up to about 330 watts with no problem. I have my driver mounted outside the tent as well . I will get some temps on the boards when I get home.

I'm gonna follow @pop22's advice and buy 4 v1 288s for 180 bucks, get a driver for them, put em in there as well and cee if the ladies will enjoy them... Im buying more lights so i don't have to move the ones in the closet or my 2x2x3!!!

Tinker Time .....

Decided to play around with the QB96s Warp Rig / Sunblaster rigs .......
I temporarily pulled the Pure UV and 10000k finisher bulbs.

I added Agromax Pure Par bulbs duals ...
– PurePAR Spectrum:
Target wavelengths of 420-470nm (blue) and 620-670nm (red )

I also have the Agromax 3000k Bloom bulbs for comparative testing. Figured I would see how a bump in particular spectrum
would be on plant response ... and so far they are liking it. The KKP are beginning to preflower and the stomper is finishing in a week or so .

Happy Growing :weed: :bigjoint:

If you have single boards/heatsinks you can customize spacing accordingly on angle aluminum. This would work best for that footprint. i would think you could do 4 rows of 3 boards per on hlg 320h 54. Those QB96e look inviting for the price. about 1200+usd buys you a 12 light beast.

7x5 flowering area, how much wattage would you guys do? 1500?

What does angle aluminum look like? I'm going to build a frame for my 4 132s and my rspec kit...2 132s,rspec kit, and 2 132s...
