I bought a total of about 20 of those half from Vivosun I don't remember the brand of the others after 1 grow all but 1 of them broke

Yep those must be the old ones. They had some light blue buttons or something if I remember right. They’re the same name/model just revised. They no longer sell the old/junk ones
Have you tried the new ones? I pretty sure I bought both versions they both suck

The ones I currently have are the new ones I believe. They’re all white with no blue at all. They seem to be smoother and haven’t crapped out on me yet. Old ones crapped out after 1-3 months
Yeah I got those ones too they all broke before the end of a grow one started smoking an almost cought the tent on fire they all went in the garbage after that

All pretty even, 9.5-10in tall. Each side is using 4 bars at 20” about 400ppfd

yeah the plexi was removed, didn’t want to break the glass on the Amare or else I would’ve removed that too. I took a quick look at all the rotors and they also look pretty even. If I had to say a difference, I think HLG side has longer/skinnier roots while Amare is shorter/thicker roots. And I’m referring to the side branching/fish bone roots. Will take some pics later

Okay here’s pics. I will say overall the roots on the Amare side are slightly better. Little bit thicker and more feeler roots.

I’m running them at the same PPFD, the HLG sabers are slightly more efficient so, same PPFD with less watts

Why not just keep them x2, IP-65/66 Rated grow lights at same wattage? They're pretty close in data aspects so why fiddle n have one a hobby light (raw diodes) & one a commercial light (IP-66, Gasgeted Glass).

I’m just assuming the sabers are more efficient because the plexiglass is removed and they are all 301b/osram diodes. Since there isn’t an efficacy # for the cannaspec and with the glass cover AND it’s a mix of 301b/osram and 561c diodes, which I had no knowledge of and disliked.
I removed the plexi before I got the bar8, I wanted an efficient light with a nice broad spectrum and decided to buy it instead of build. I don’t care much for the high IP rating since I’m just a small home grower
Yeah bars have great coverage and is what I prefer over boards/cobs.

I run a similiar Bar comparison. This time all the same strain between the 2 spectrums so will finally see the difference in one grow.
I can say, both of these have broken my own past records. The Saber looking one is the Bar-8 Proto.

After a little LST they are back up to about 10” which is where the net is. Pretty even growth on both sides
