Good day all! I have noticed that a lot of folks feel like more plants in the box is better than a few large plants. I am here to say that my 2 large girls are better than 36 plants in the same small growing space. I yield over 1g a watt in my 2x4. 2-600 watt fixtures and 10 air exchanges a minute, this allows for plenty of fresh air and no need for CO2. Ebb and Flow in clay. Apply all the methods of SOG, Supercropping and I can prove more plants in the space is not better, Food for thought for beginners. Research this topic. Good day all! My experience and two cents.

I utilize a 8 inch 600 cfm exhaust fan, no Carbon filter. The exhausting air over 30 feet above ground, Elimating the need for exspensive Carbon filters.

Are you saying your yielding 3lbs + per 2x4 tray and 1200 watts? Is that what your saying is in the pic? 3lbs from those 2 plants?

How long you veg for?

Just want to confirm these few things first, before going any further into the math of why Sogs are the chosen method vs big plants.

Well it’s actually over 2lb, but yes.
well ya, 8 lbs is also over 2lbs but thats not what were talking about here lol

your using 1200 watts of lights.....you said over 1g per watt,....1 LB is 453 grams....at over 1g per watt you shuld be at 3lbs and not 2, ducy?

Veg over 60 days.
See heres the problem with your theory, you veg for 60 days while the guy running 24-30 plants in 2x4 trays from clone is turning over a crop every 60 days to your 120.. hes producing twice as many crops per year just on veg time alone

And the yield wont change very drastically, a 2x4 space can only yield so much, whether its a big plant or a bunch of small ones.
Unless you wanna do like @Renfro and pack side lighting all around the plants .

Most anyone around would tell ya running from sog is KING if plant count is no issue. Growing them big like you say is awesome otherwise.

The first girl produced over 600g, unfortunately both ladies timing to maturity was a bit delayed so I can and will provide the exact troll weight shortly. What I can appreciate is your passion for the art. I still like you lol and really don’t care about your history. My horticulture degree stands proudly on the wall.

Growing for the beginner is tough enough, it’s more about learning how the environment, having more plants is not better, my point. I grow for me not for profit, I want control over what I ingest and saving money. I own 40 acres above ground plant materials, grow legal plants and shrubs. I’m not bragging but it seems I’m being tested lol.

If you try training an acre of plants like that you will probably find it to be a lot of work. Many small clones will require less maintenance and can be easily scaled up. Plus a major reduction in veg time and typically better overall quality.

Hi, Let’s start out by looking at the Subject in which my point posted. For the beginners.
1. For the beginners and personal use not some production/factory environment.
2. Reading quite of few posts in this section no one seemed to add that point, which echo by more than myself. Have you actually not heard of others making this same very point? ILGM one place, so many others.
3. Plant quantities does not guarantee bigger yields my point, furthermore it is more important find best species for your environment/skill, No?

Nothing but love here. The 60 days primarily because of my species choice, other specimens can certainly outperform yield compared and shorter Veg time comparing Barneys Farm Dr Grinspoon. Quality and Flavor uniqueness my choice. ;)
