I had the cable guy go directly behind one of my set ups I was a bit paranoid till we had some small talk back and forth. Long story short me an the dude ended up sampling some of my shit. Turns out he does the same. lol

The Power companies pass on information to police on a regular basis when power consumption increases at a property.
The police also use keys and private information that the power companies hold..

FYI the new Air Force Choppers that fly around on training maneuvers have cameras that can see easily heat signatures and any outdoor crops grown close together emit an electronic signature that is like a beacon to the fly boys..

Wow. Do you live in da up? I’m down here in the center of the mitten, south center anyway, and my rate is about 1/4 of that. There would be a lot less home grows if that rate was common everywhere.

Oh sorry, thought I was replying to another thread about when a buddy got busted. This was in like the early 90's. FLIR was really new and that show COPS would be chasing a criminal on foot with a chopper and they could see the heat from his foot prints on the grass!

This is why its good to have extra "hobbies" as well. in the event that someone ever look at and questioned my power consumption id simply have to inform them "well i have a hot tub, a steam cabinet (a personal sauna), a hydrogen production system, a rife machine, various industrial power tools/machines" they can measure your power but they cant tell what that power is used for.

I worked at power plants so, yeah my lights are always off during peak periods, here super peak is 4pm-9pm. Double price during summer.

shrug, I run my homelab 24/7 for fun, its 2x 1000w PSU + NAS + home pc's..... adding on a few lights here and there didn't change my bill too much unless I go nuts.
