My 1/4hp Active Aqua has two switches. The primary power switch on the side of the unit as well as a membrane switch on the front control panel. Which unit did you buy???

Same unit I'm using. Main power switch on the bottom of the r/h side panel. Then the power button on the r/h of the front membrane panel.

Yes the switch on bottom work but not the power to lcd screen

Its bacteria and its usually the beneficial type (denitrifying). Opaque thin layer or white toilet paper floaty stuff? They are aerobic as all bacteria in DWC are and need oxygen. You will not find anaerobic bacteria in a DWC system as you usually need a substrate to get those conditions. Not all anaerobic bacteria are bad some are also denitrfying. If you have anaerobic bacteria you will have dead plants long before due to lack of oxygen.

Well bacteria is dead now I cleaned out system filled with fresh ro water and some h202

EWC tea is the only thing that kept it away, although far from an ideal solution it works.
Have no idea what it actually is but I found that it goes hand in hand with the pink slime you see in hot tubs. Some kinda fungus maybe.

If you're familiar with Polysorbate20 and how to use it it's the best cleaning agent I've come across. I clean with 50-100ppm of Polysorbate and Pool Shock @ 5ppm between runs.

To remove any biofilm I run 1-2ppm residual chlorine throughout the grow cycle.

Haha yeah it's unsightly but harmless. The reason your teas works is because the bacteria in the teas outcompete the other and therefore they have no food source. That pink growth is also bacteria and it quite nasty shit.
